Why not turn some of those ideas into short stories?

I have plenty of those ideas too. What I put in my rp request thread are just pairings I want to try. usually not something I have an idea for. Plus I rp totally different things than I write.

I guess that makes sense yeah. It's two different worlds.

it really is. The ideas that work great for rps are fun. only sometimes are they worth being more than an rp. Rather, I get ideas for stories and characters from things that happen in rps.

yeah. so I do need my rps. Teachers always say you need to write every day. ^_^

it kinda is. and I think I can thank Life Studies the most. Its the rp I've been religiously writing in for so long! the rps have helped my writing style and I guess maturity has helped my actual stories. because I know its only a recent thing that my stories have been so...depressing and cynical and anti or strange love. I'm always exploring unusual forms of love.

Yeah Life Studies I think has helped us both in a lot of ways.
and those things seem to normally help a person when it comes to writing

Mine could be better but creative writing is not my main focus

its probably getting better even if you're not working on it.

I would hope so. I think what I really need to work on is my mentality towards my writing. It's such a task sometimes and it should be fun

yeah. that is a problem. writing really does need to be fun. why do you see it as a task?

I know that when I don't want to respond to a certain rp or write something, it gets in my way a lot. I've gotten so much better about it though. I just started forcing myself to start writing. Once I do that, it's fine.

I can't force myself to write. I've tried in the past and all it does is just make for me wanting to kill characters

well, it doesn't work at first. but the more often you tell yourself you're going to write, the more you're actually going to want to do it. I used to open a word document and read over the last bit written over and over and never write anything because suddenly I didn't feel like it anymore. I just slapped myself on the wrist and started writing. and maybe I'd stop a sentence later. but I wrote. Now i don't need to try so hard.

Huh. I think i need to make myself start one of my AUs, whichever will be easiest to write. Probably the waiter!Blaine one... but I don't have any direction for that one *sigh*

you definitely won't have a direction if you don't start. Sometimes it comes to you as you write. the best ideas come when the juices flow as you write.

I need to at least have an idea of where I'm going though I don't have that.
