Hey guys, I know none of you are up yet (most likely) but I'm posting this anyway before I forget and will park my browser here.
So you guys know I'm knitting, and yes, I am making Wingsy's Slythernin knee-highs. BUT. I also bought the pattern for the Ravenclaw ones and decided I will never use the fail "derpy chicken-dove with no tail" eagles, as i put it to Jace, the original pattern writer made on the front and back motifs. They look hideous in my opinion, and I know I can come up with something better. This is what I have so far and think I'm happy with:
kind of a very zoomed in grid image...X
Yea I know there's a red line zig-zagging, it's there to figure out how much pattern will get cut off when making the toe...
So then putting the general motifs together, you have mine on the left, and the chicken-dove one on the right:
Which one do you guys think is better? Should I change my Heraldic Eagle design? Does it look weird in some places? Are the wings okay??
yea, those were my thoughts exactly about the stock eagle. it's a shame, really...
i honestly thought that the other 3 designs (particularly the gryffindor socks) had AMAZING mascot motifs. Ravenclaws got left in the dirt :( and the yarn color choice the writer used is really bad too...
Also, wings, the 2 side panels on your socks that have the house cheer... The cheer is "Sssslytherin." I was showing these socks to Jason and he said he didn't like that it doesn't just say "Slytherin," so I wanted to check with you. Do you want "Sssslytherin" on them, or just "Slytherin?"
