What on earth would a class called "Advanced Fiction" consist of?

there are too many required books and I don't really want to read them though. it was better than the other two choices though.

Also, it's modernist literature it's not going to be that bad. It will be mostly quick reading. The main mode of a lot of modernist writing was poetry

I don't have anywhere I can look. I only briefly saw the class description when meeting with my adviser. it's a special topics class, not something that's offered every semester.

Then how do you know you are reading books?

that seems so odd to me.
If it's a special topics class that should mean it could be anything given on the semester so the class description would need to be more general to allow for that.
and then the required readings wouldn't be given until the syllabi was handed out

That's how my Studies in the Novel class was. We found out early on it would be a Cormac McCarthy class from an email from Dr. Young but we didn't find out the actual book list until we got the Syllabus

it shouldn't be strange to know the reading from the beginning since everything has to be bought online before class starts anyway.

Like I think our book lists (if they are posted, which they aren't always) are usually posted like a month before the new semester

well, once you sign up for classes, it gives you a link to the bookstore to buy books. since they're like connected sites or something. yep, to see what classes you've signed up for, it also shows you the books. but always need the books right from the very start.

well yes but the professors have to have posted those and my profs don't always do that.

Books are kinda decided when the prof wants and then some profs don't use the bookstore system because they want to save us money

most of my classes have been built off of one book or something like that.
