We played Catan. like settlers of Catan except just another version of it. a strategy game.
Didn't really like Hunger Games. I mean, I got really into it for a while, but too much didn't make sense and the ending. I don't know. There are better dystopian plots out there too.

ah Catan is fun. i've played it before.

Haha. There definitely are better dystopian plots out there but it's not horrible. I think it just relies a bit too much on the sensational and supposedly gruesome natures of things rather than actually developing something that is honestly dystopian and disturbing.
I will say they did a fantastic job of making a first person book into a movie. and Caesar Flickerman was just perfect.

I wasn't sure how much I'd like it, but it's alright. but I'm really bad at it.

There were so many things that I know I need to read the book to even begin to understand though. and honestly, I couldn't like many characters and when I did, they died less than a minute later.

Yeah, that's basically why i stopped reading the books. i got through the first and the second b/c i love Cinna and Gale. But in the the third Gale is just an ass, and I honestly started hating both Peeta and Katniss when before I had just disliked them, so I just stopped.

I lost miserably both times.

I only know three names. I liked Rui, but she died right after she befriened katniss.

uh Cinna is her designer. Gale is her best friend. Peeta is the other district 12 tribute. Rue was sweet. I really liked Thresh (big black guy from the same district as Rue) even though he's basically a non-character, character in both the book and movie. I just really respected him

I knew Peeta though I thought it was peter. he was the third name I knew. I remember cinna now though I don't remember hearing his name. still have zero idea who Gale is. She had no friends in the movie. Thresh or whatever...he had maybe 10 seconds in the movie.

Yeah, she does they just majorly majorly deemphasized his role in the movie and that was mainly b/c his role is primarily in Katniss' thoughts.
The entire thing is about choosing between Gale and Peeta, another reason I don't really like it.

and yeah Thresh was in like ten pages of the book but he was always this presence who was just a survivor and I really liked that.

my dad was upset because there was no conflict shown between those two guys. makes sense if it was in her thoughts, but it was even hinted at.
He looked like he would be impossible to kill, but then he was dead. I was like wtf!

It will become more prominent in the later books. Part of the reason why I started hating Gale in the third book. That and I realized at some point that Katniss would choose Peeta and I just ugh. No.

they don't even tell you how he dies!

Ugh, I hated Peeta with a passion. Just like, ugh. From the start, I just did not like him. He was nothing compared to Gale
