haha. i'm actually the same. like i would scream in joy if i found a dystopian novel that ended unhappily (especially if it were a young adult one)
but then I can handle the angst, I mean I read The Fault in Our Stars and that story breaks you

totally! I like my stories with some harsh reality to them and dystopians don't have to end happy. Though I'm not saying they should all end bad. That might be a bit too depressing...

no. but like I hate how a Hollywood dystopian is always not only a happy ending but like an immediate fix to the dystopia and i'm just like 'but it doesn't work that way guys. there's no immediate fix.

I liked it and didn't like it at the same time. It's an interesting story. but it never felt like a true dystopia to me. to me a dystopia should disturb something deep within you. something carnal. and i never got that feeling from hunger games, just that it was disturbing b/c it should be disturbing
