In middle school, when I mentioned I wasn't feeling well during a free period, my "best friend" ran away to the opposite wall screaming. I guess that was partly because she had a low immune system, but she could have been nicer about it. By contrast, our guy friend sat down by me, put his arms around me and tried to get rid of my headache. Needless to say I developed a crush on him.
