I have to agree, but I did manage to get rid of over 200 gears today. Not so many flowers when I tried being a secondary gardener.

I get rid of some gears and flowers as well from time to time, but not quite as easily as spanners.

Or maybe only options to exchange 9 or 10 at a time, nine when the odds would be 3:1, 10 when the odds are 2:1. That way, you won't end up with fractions of currency like FoWN event.
