Yup. The "fake" staff attacks on the machines are done by the NPCs. I heard earlier that the attack took both teams machines down to 2000 HP.

Ouch... So are they on teams or a separate team by themselves?

well I'd rather the machines are down so we can acutally use up gears and flowers

I have no clue. I just heard this stuff from other team members when I was chatting with them earlier.

It was nice to see the machines down. I managed to finish getting rid of my 280+ flowers today. I got rid of all my 260+ gears yesterday.

Normally there is a new item released each day. They are running this event differently since there are six tool sets to collect as well. For this event they are releasing one item every other day.
