I'm thinking about getting a mac. So I can play with the artsy fartsy programs.

I just switched to mac at the beginning of the year, i love this thing but man getting used to it is taking a while after 20 years of PC.

ill try but i have to totally get used to my tablet again before i start drawing i can stull do graphics like banners and tuff that im trained for though

I want to get a new laptop for grad school but I am sooo cheap. Or poor. Or both.

Well I have one of all of them- at least. A mac, 2 windows, a Linux. Mac is good for the fact it doesn't break. Mine id from 2002 and still works like a charm

Yesss I am so happy about the viruslessness. All my PCs, no matter HOW WELL I took care of them, always got infested!

I'm trying to decide though. >.<

What type should I get. Money is no object. I can easily spend 1k on a really good one.

wish i could say that i have some funky virus that claims i hav eno itnernet so i cant use msn messaging or anything liek that and the only browser that works for me is firefox

I ave a nice Windows laptop that gets these errors and blue screen of death- it is such a chore to figure out the problem. I had to take a RAM chip out, and that seemed to work. FOr a person who doesn't have the PC knowledge (or enjoy researching) they would think it was a virus and probably ditch the PC.

Bah I'm going to get an external and a tablet. That should cost about the same.

I love working around with computers I have 3 laptops. All a while older than the rest. I enjoy tinkering with the drives and the memory. I have built a computer from scratch before. Its really fun but really expensive.

haha only reason I'm going to be able to afford it is because of the refund checks we get each year

I like Macs better, but it will cost more than a thousand for a brand new one. you may be able to get an older one under $1000 that has been refurbished. Some people don't like that, but my old one is fantastic. It beams my wireless signal so I leave it on all the time.

I will admit I am addicted to working on computers. I have had a hand in building every desktop I have spent any significant amount of time on since I was 7.
However, I spend most of my time on my laptop - a Macbook Pro, mid-2009 model.
I intend to convert it to a tri-boot system as soon as I get a chance; as much as I love OSX, both Windows and Linux have their advantages, I must admit.
