Well, I am a county employee, and today I got to meet with middle management regarding some complaints I have about the way I have been treated lately - read, illegally. My supervisor has been padding her hours from the beginning, I do not get my state mandated breaks, and now I have been demoted due to the fact that I have seizures - which have no impact on my work performance; I have never had one at work, and as long as we keep the lights working properly I probably never will.
Although, the demotion was not ENTIRELY disability-related - it was also partially retaliation for the fact that I had submitted a complaint against my supervisor. Again, illegal.
They have also gotten my mother involved, accusing her of calling the county fraud hotline to inform them of the fact that my supervisor has been padding her hours (because apparently that number is just there for show, and trying to inform these people that SOMEONE IS RIPPING THEM OFF is a horrible thing to do). Yet again, it is illegal to disclose to anyone that someone has called this line.
I am being paid for being two classifications lower than I am actually working. My current duties are actually closer to my supervisor's job description than anything else - yet I am being paid as the bottom of the food chain and barely keeping up with my bills.
I finally got to speak to someone about this, and instead of helping...they danced around the issues, defended the woman who they clearly know is stealing their money, and threw out so many lies that I actually lost count somewhere around 42 - in a 30-minute meeting.
I...just have to keep moving this through the ranks, but if it continues I may very well have to sue.
Yes...it has been an interesting day. I am still a little buzzed from the drink I had on the way home (don't worry, I wasn't driving).
