I remember attended amateur art class, and hate it. It is so boring.

It does take a tremendous amount of patience, for sure.

I do both. xD I prefer drawing by hand and coloring by tablet. :3 But when I do concept sketches for Mene, I always use the tablet because it's easier to change things that way. I can just use layers to separate all the pieces. xD

Ah, that's true! I've been looking at getting a tablet, more because I want to start designing fonts and whatnot, but I hear they're quite expensive.

I think it is the way the lesson is carry out. All her teacher did is bring out a book or put together a few objects and ask her to draw. That is it.

But She found out that learning to draw WHILE really need it is more effective. like having commission, and when wanted to learn something only go to research works better because immediately after reading up you apply the technique. More lasting.

That's also true. I hated doing art projects "Just because," as in, "Draw this stack of bags!" But when we actually got into the major assignments, it was very cool. I eventually quit because I realized I can write a damn good short story in an hour, where most of my major projects were taking 40+ hours. It was really a time thing.

I didn't like art or music classes, but I love art and music but all the theory ruins it... *Sigh*

Depends on what sort of tablet you get!

Professional tablets can cost a lot of money, and I honestly don't use my tablet enough to justify the expense.

So I only get the ones around 100usd. I think the Graphire II was around 89 dollars brand new and my Bamboo Fun was around 90usd brand new. That I could justify. :3


Yeah. I got frustrated with drawing objects. I prefer drawing characters to objects, really. Or clothes and hair mostly. xD; So drawing the texture of tree bark or an egg didn't hold my attention very long.

But it did help me refine my idea of shadow and such.

Yeah, $100 or less seems reasonable. Hell, I spend more than that on books most of the time. (Not school books--those are hellishly expensive.)

YES! the theory part ruins my main's music education! She HATEs theory. But she likes playing instrument~ She still don't understand why those Allegro, Adante must be in... was it German? XD Can't it be any other languages she know? I mean, music is not language class...

Golden Goose, on the other hand, my main likes writing. BUT! her writings NEVER finish, yet her art gets to finished. XD She is too treasure of her story of ending them... DX

It's been awhile but I think (don't hold me to it) that it might be Latin... but you're right... it's supposed to be music not "L.O.T.E." (Languages other than English)

I think most music terms are in Italian, but it might be French. xD (Or a mixture of both.)

I rarely have an Amazon cart under 60usd. >_< I count myself lucky if I walk out of a bookstore the same. xD;
