That sounds wonderful, Jeanne. :) On hot summer (and almost-summer) days, I tend to contemplate moving to Alaska. Not seriously, but you do make it sound appealing!

I've always wanted to go to Alaska! It sounds like a gorgeous place.

My step daughter took us on what she called a little walk the 2nd day we were there.

Man....I am so out of shape! It was a stroll for her, but I was huffing and puffing.
We went up and down and up and down...through the trees, by the river....
It was beautiful, but I was gasping too much to fully appreciate it!

I would love to see Alaska before global temperatures get any warmer. (No, not trying to start an argument about why Earth's climate fluctuates, so let's not start that.)

I'm out of shape too but I'd love to be near some real nature and not just manacured lawns.

Everytime I go back to see my parents, its like a breath of fresh air. They live out in the country, pretty much IN the woods. Its such a nice change from all this fake air, fake floors, fake yards. I love it out there. Wild flowers growing everywhere, the smell of the damp earth, all the green..*Purrs* I wanna go home now.

You really have to love the country for that. :) Also, the ability to actually see the stars on clear nights... *sigh*

The fresh-caught copper river salmon was the best.

She also had us help pick what she calls "beach greens". Little shoots that you pluck.
They are rather sweet. She made a pesto out of them, and we had that on noodles with the salmon.

Ok I'm back I look kinda plain but I got tired
