At one time I heard that some people were able to donate. I believe one of the mods said that she can donate just fine.

Any items I get through events I sell cheaply too. Since I didn't have to pay anything for them like with the CI's, I'm not going to be greedy about it. Just something to get me a little extra gold. And I have many times just given the items away when I found someone that was missing something.
