@ ElysiumFate, there are different levels of help for people to live on their own. There's assisted living, and different levels of care in nursing homes. It kinda makes me think of dorms for the above 65 set!

My sister and I basically forced my mother into the assisted living facility.
She was suffering from dementia, and was forgetting to take her insulin.

We took her to visit a few places, and convinced her that it was a nice place (which it was).

I am not sorry that I didn't have children. I was not able to. But I cannot but wonder sometimes what it would have been like.

I was a twin, Gypsea.
If I had had children, then my daughter would probably have had twins.

I believe it skips a generation.

Twins I would definitely have a hard time with but I have a friend who had triplets . . . never want that ever.

Gypsea: can you adopt them out? Don't mean to get too personal, but I had a friend in high school who had a baby and immediately adopted so she wouldn't get attached to him.

Then there are the nutters, like octomom....That's just frightening! Too many babies at one time, how can any parent handle that!

It is sad that you find so many people dumping their older parents into a home. And some of them aren't so bad that they even need to be in a home. They might just need an hour of assistence a day but can live fine on their own still. But for some reason when it goes into court arguments, the elderly person always looses and gets put into a home.

I dont think I could. I have seen what an adopted kid goes though. my sister was adopted and she has times when she gets mad at her real mom for what she did.

I can't say I don't want them...but the idea of pregnancy does NOT interest me.

My grandmother is basically independent. There are just people that walk by her apartment every now and then to make sure she's fine.

Octomom is definitely a nutter. Doesn't she have like 14 kids now? AND she's raising them on her own?

I hope you have a nice day with your clients also, Daria!

Perhaps I should go to bed now too. It is quite late here.
