My first actual encounter with a bat was at the natural history museum of Washington, next to the dormant volcano Mt. St. Helens. I was about 10 or 11 and I had my tiny cousin with me, about 3 or 4. There was a bat on the wall above a display of animals of the area, and we thught it was fake at first. I stood on my toes, got super-close to the wall, and blew in it's face. It spread its wings, looked up and opened its mouth and screeched at me. I picked up my cousin and hauled ass across the museum (made it to the opposite wall in about 3.2 seconds). My family was standing a few feet away, collectively dying of laughter.
...I still like bats, surprisingly enough.
@Gypsea: YESSSSS. I showed that clip to my bf and he thought it was hilarious...'specially when his daughter said "It's been like three years, shouldn't you move on?"
