@ Leenie: Making something that big is doable. I have a bunch of things that come up to my chest even! It's not easy making them that large but it's doable. ^_^

I would think that renting would be better than purchasing.
Especially now. You should be able to find a nice place.

:stares at leenie:
Like I don't fricken know that. Don't make it solid and it won't take a ton of clay.

I've started the process of finding potential artists, but if I leave the area like I want to, it won't help.

I don't understand what you are asking Leenie to build, Dream.

xD Yeah. she's complaining about the size, I'm hoping she realizes that when I say basket ball sized I mean 14inch either vertical of horizontal.

Basketball sized does sound rather large.

why in the world would i make it solid? it would explode. XD
it would be a pain to keep it from collapsing in on itself.

zig, i know it's doable, but i'm not a big-piece person. i like my art little and storable.

granny, it looks like this:

actually... i have a flower i just made like that. i wonder....

dream, it's shaymin. it's going to be the same height tall as it is wide.

Another Q, if and when I return to sculpture ( which is what I'd like to do when I have studio space), I wonder, do you think people would pay to have someone make them a sculpture of their char?.
Could be from an avatar site, from a RP game, a fan-art char, any other online game and possibly whatever else you can think of..This is one of my sculpture ideas.

That is so sweet, Leenie!

Claudia, I do not know.

Do you like my new twister hairstyle?
I thought I would try it out after seeing it on Dream.

claudia, they might, depending on how much they like their character, but you'd probably have to keep them to small busts or tiny figures and charge under $100.

isn't it, granny? i love it because it's supposed to take in polluted air and make it clean again.
... i'm not an enviro-nerd. ._.;;;
your hair looks fun~

SHHHH, it'll explode. >_>;;
she hasn't really taught us techniques on how to work the clay, just showed us things to make and how to make them.

Ideally I'd like to make them like personal action figures. But that might be beyond my skills just as I'm getting back into it.

Then don't try to make shaymin yen. Wait till like midsummer or something. xD
Bigger things are easier to make because you can make thm in pieces, dry them to leather hard, then attach them and smooth it - with no fear of it collapsing because it was wet.
Learned that on the hard way. xD

My teacher "taught" us nothing. He helped us figure it out on our own. ^_^ He's awesome.

Throwing is really hard Granny. It takes a long time to learn. I can't throw well at all. T_ T

You mean like throwing on a pottery wheel?. I assume it has limited use since pottery can be made far easier in molds.
Oh good, Amazon is sending me pistachio nuts I ordered.

claudia, just practice your detail work when you can with some clay, you can always crush it and start again if you don't fire it.

granny, i am waiting for the day when she'll let us on the wheels. WAITING SO BADLY.

midsummer the class will be over. it's only a 5.5 week class.
this teapot would not fare so great if i try to do it in pieces. i tend to misalign things.

I would think that throwing a pot would make it much more unique than molds would be.
