*nod* Exactly. We avoid medications (on the whole) here too. The body is amazing at being able to heal itself, given the time and proper care (like real food).

Fortunately, allergy season here is over with. I was dealing with pollen coating the driveway, the cars, the house, etc. back in February and March... yeah... and April... I'm soooo glad that's over with ('cuz it's annoying and gross in the sheer amount of it), but now it's getting hot and humid...

Hubby and I kept joking about tree sperm getting on the car. xD
It's mostly over here, we still have flowers blooming though, and in a couple of months I think the corn will be in bloom too.

My lillies should be blooming in the next couple of days. I'm so excited for it!! I'd planted some like 2 years ago and they didn't do anything the first year, they grew last year and budded but the kids got to them, and this year I think I'll actually get flowers!! xD

cool, Mel! I'm trying to grow some veggies (tomatoes, beans, squash) and some herbs, and the kids have a garden that's newly boasting a (as in ONE) morning glory and what is fast becoming a HUGE sunflower, and a couple other things that nobody remembers what they're supposed to be! :XD

xD We got our grapes planted, our raspberries and black berries. They're growing well which means fruit next year! In the same bed we have some marigolds and a couple of sun flowers. The marigolds and sunflowers were from seed kits that the kids did, so I'm happy those have done so well!

In our normal garden we have snow peas that are starting to flower, broccoli that is being attacked by something, ONE onion (we planted like 30! D: ) strawberries, and cantaloupe/watermelon/pumpkin. I can't tell any of the vines apart any more, except that the watermelons have little blue things next to their base since they were also part of a kit and that was the markers they had...but they're all about 4 inches tall and looking like viney plants. xD
We got the garden going earlier this year... I need to go in and get rid of all the grass that's started coming up again I just don't want to put out the effort to do it! >.<

I'm also a little sad that my iris only bloomed for about 3 weeks. My mom had two months worth of iris blooming, mine all did it at the same time. </3

I have a black thumb. I can´t take care of plants at all. Maybe I´m just not dedicated enough.

I wish we could plant blueberries and raspberries and all that... it's hard to do down here though. The spinach and such just aren't growing, and we don't have enough realistic space to plant the big vine plants like you're doing, Mel - although I'd love to be able to! (But this is part of the reason I'd like to move a bit more north too!)

You're not the only one, Kalium. I just haven't had much luck with plants as a general rule... I wonder if I can't "read" them well enough or what. It's hard to tell whether it needs more water, less water, more or less sun, etc.... but so far, there ARE things growing this year... which is a good thing.

I have an obsession with orchids, but all I do is kill them. >.> lolz.

I forget to go out and water the plants...I rarely remember to plant on time...we are lucky that where we live gets rain fairly often because it keeps the plants from dying. lol. If it were left up to me our back yard would probably be completely dead. ^^;;
I'm trying to get a green thumb. My dad started planting stuff when he was younger and a lot of it died, he said he just kept at it, and now he has plants popping up that he didn't plant. I'm hoping to get some of that talent. xD I want volunteer tomato plants!

That's kind of where I am right now.. just persisting and hoping something happens from it. But most of our stuff is in containers and the rainy season hasn't started here yet, but the heat IS increasing... it makes for interesting gardening experiences!

lol, I can imagine! Last year was so bad for our tomatoes, the heat hit before we had replanted them into the ground and every day at 1 pm I would look out at them and freak out becasue they were completely wilted. It scared me the first few days, but checking on them later in the day would show that they were perked back up and fine. Their just dramatic plants. xD I started putting them in the shade for the hotter hours of the day and watering them after the sun had gone to the other side of the house as well. That way not as much water got soaked up by the sun beaming down on the poor things.

*nod* I'm doing an experiment this year... we have several growing tomato plants in a large bucket in the back, on the lanai, but I transplanted a couple to another, shallower container on the side of the house. The transplanted plants get more sun, the soil is still damp (just checked it) but their color isn't as good as the others... I'm still trying to figure out if they're tryign to recover from being transplanted or if I overwatered them shortly after transplanting them. I don't think the additional sun is the issue...

I never know what the problem is when it comes to watering/transplanting. Generally I blame the transplanting since it shocks plants. I've had some that decided to be shocked until the next growing season started, I thought for sure they had died, but they pop up and look healthy in the spring! (Mostly bush like plants that survive the winter). There are so many variables with plants... >.<

I've never purposely tried to grow tomatoes before - I probably should sometime since Chris likes them so much and I can grow them in pots on my deck.

I accidentally grew cherry tomatoes one year - our house-mate at the time worked at a farm and brought home a flat of cherry tomato plugs that he had intended to plant. He nver did, move and left them - so I hosed them down when I remembered they were there - got some really really good cherry tomatoes out of it though.

----------

Looks like we're able to repair again - machine is low!

The fact that the Sprocket team's machine is damaged is good news to me... perhaps we can win this round of challenges? o_0

*nod* I went through all of mine too (well - I still can't do anything with the goofy flowers), except for 12 gaskets that I'm holding on to in case the donation thingy gets fixed soon too. *wants the other tools*

Is that working out ok for you? I switched secondary professions yesterday to be able to use all the spanners I had been accumulating but didn't see any reason to bother switching again since the machines were always "full"... perhaps now it makes sense to switch though...

It was - but it looks like the FP is almost full now so I don't know if it would be worth it.
