That one is Sakura Mochi. I've never tried it actually. But it looks interesting.

Arizona tea in general is amazing.

I just wish they made a cancer-free version of their Iced-Tea-Lemonade.

:(

There is no version of it without splenda.

Fake sugars are so bad for you.

backish! We made tuna/salmon casserole. It's both tuna and salmon because... SOMEhow... we only had one can of salmon and not enough tuna to just use tuna! lol!

MOCHI! *_____* I keep trying to make it but mine don't ever seem to come out right. O_O Which is odd, because I tend to figure things out fairly well. I don't have a microwave, so I have to do it the old fashioned way. I've had mochi, LOVE the stuff, but when I make them they don't seem to come out.. chewy enough? =shakes head= Could be the recipe I used... =whistles=

=thinks= ...my recipe doesn't call for potato starch, though... wonder if that's the issue? dunno, gonna try that recipe you posted, Seito!

I LOVE them with red bean paste in them... YUMMMMMM! *_*

Maybe? xD If I recall, my butter mochi recipe doesn't use potato starch. So I dunno?

@ Riot; ANY KIND of sugar substitute is disgusting and tastes bad. Pure sugar is whats healthy for you.
But I don't mean you should guzzle it down cause it is, but its better than that nastyness fersure. D:

@ Seito; It doesn't look sweet. *-*;

@ Suona; Do you have nothing to driiink~?

I avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup, Splenda, and all sorts of fake sugars like the plague. True, real sugar in extreme excess isn't good for you either, but it's better than something genetically modified.

I remember when I was a young child "sugar free" was a big marketing campaign to get parents to buy stuff for their kids.

Now with the Pepsi (and mountain dew, and doctor pepper) "throwbacks" and other things saying "Made with REAL SUGAR" on the front... it makes me laugh and cry a little inside at the irony.

Corn syrup is also bad for you.
Don't believe those ads that are FUNDED BY THE CORN FARMERS OF AMERICA.

The reason that corn syrup is so bad...

Well let me start off by saying, that YES. In moderation it's fine, as is almost everything else.
The problem with moderation, is that it's in everything.

It's in juices, sodas, cookies, ice cream, most canned goods, lots of cake mixes and stuff where you just need to add water and no sugar or nothin', powdered corn syrup.

So, yeah. If it was only a little bit here and there, sure! Fine!

But anyway, the reason it's so bad for you, is because it's converted to FAT much much much faster than real sugar is.

And the problem with fake sugars, is that they are what you call "left-handed sugars". The human body has evolved to process "right-handed sugars".

Left handed sugars in small doses cause no problems, but in excess can cause problems with your digestive system, especially if you're like me and have IBS or some other digestive system problem.

I seriously read the ingredient list for almost everything I buy. High Fructose Corn Syrup is even in Heinz Ketchup and Hershey's Syrup! This is where you go and buy the Whole Foods/Trader Joes/Organic Section alternatives >_<;

I try to when I can, go organic, I mean.

But the problem with things that are organic or have real sugar versus fake sugar, is that they are more expensive.
And considering I don't have a job right now and just barely skate along each month with my inheritance money I get, I really have to cut corners on the nice things I'd spoil myself with if I had the money. @[email protected]

Organic stuff tastes like crap. I can't stand most organic stuff. :/
Like for instance, fresh green beans--I can't stand them, its disgusting. But I can stand fresh peas. Lettuce is okay, too.

I don't eat cellery, lima beans, radishes, cauliflower OR carrots--nasty stuff right thar, yessir. D|

Corn syrup isn't so bad IF you don't eat too much of it. I like the canned corn, canned green beans and whole potatoes. I don't really eat them all the time, barely even, but I like them.

I've only been eating crackers and the roasted beans my mom made with her special sauce lately and some cheese. I drink more than I eat, so, I don't have to worry about all that other stuff in food. I rather enjoy what little I eat rather than the scarce of whats in it. o.0;

For Pop, I only drink Dr. Pepper.
It doesn't have as much as acid in it like Pepsi, Coke and the others. I drink it with a straw ~ XD

&& Coke and Pepsi taste like FISH! FISSSSSSH! :illgetu:

IF YOU WOULD PLEASE, FLOOD KENT/HADDYS 2nd THREAD WITH THIS!

Caulifer is also really good with cheese.
And ranch.
And covered in spices and steamed.
And just eaten raw and and and...it's my face veggie. >>;;

Next to carrots, mmmm.
but I'm kindof allergic to carrots, just a little though.

Wow, I didn't pay attention to that corn syrup was used in cake mixes. O_O Just didn't know they bothered drying it out, lol. But, I suppose, it's almost unnecessary for me to worry about because almost every meal I fix is from scratch. I even bake deserts from scratch. We don't drink much soda, well, we drink more Hawaiian Punch than soda, but still not that much. We make our own tea and predominantly drink water, lol!

And none of this is because we're on some strange health kick. It's just pure, natural eating. Make sure you fix good balanced meals and you're set, really! That way there's no need to worry about all these extras, additives, preservatives, whatnots. So when we do eat something, like ketchup, or drink a soda what little bit we do we don't feel bad about, lol!

Hawaiian punch makes my tummy feel icky. I think it's all the food colouring in it, and all the sugar. :gonk:

@ Riot: It can be really sweet. I like to use a lot of ice and drink it slowly (ice melts et al, lol).

As for food... there's really nothing that I ... ah... WON'T eat... haha! I give anything a shot, and if cooked right, can be amazing. I blame most food hates on a lack of proper cooking. You grow up eating something that tastes nasty, you're gonna always hate it. >_<

I love curry and cauliflower is important to it, hehe! And broccoli *_* and NICELY steamed carrots, yum! Course, I love making candied or glazed carrots. Can't help myself... >_>

Right now, I'm hankering for a strawberry chicken spinach salad with almonds... We have REALLY gotta go shopping for groceries soon! haha!

Holy crap! * ^ *
Our machine HP is down to 1300's. We need flower pplz to heal! D:

@ Riot; ew . . . Carrots are just feeehh.
'Cept sweet carrots--the ones you make with brown sugar. Once you destroy that complete carroty taste, I'll eat them. LOL

@ Tasia; Ah.
We only buy bottled water and pop occasionally . . . which kills me. D|
I have low blood sugar and Dr. Pepper is the only thing that puts that stuff in me.

My sugar rate is always at 30 or below. <- That's only fatal if I get anesthetic shots.
I had that happen to me when I was getting mouth surgery again. I was losing all oxygen in my head and I couldn't stand up worth diddly. I almost suffocated to death. > _ >;

Apparantly, I was supposed to eat something before that. But I wasn't hungry . . .

So they hooked me up to one of those nosey oxygen tube things you see on E.R., House MD. It made my nose so so itchy. x . x

HAWAIIN PUNCH . . . is guck. I'd choose Kool Aid over that. :XP

Strawberry Chicken Spinach salad with almonds? o _ o;
SPINACH IS THE NASTIEST THING EVERRR! I used to believe that I'd get as strong as Popi on the can/show and I tried it when I was 7/8yrs old! I NEVER ATE THAT gunk again. Nevaaah!

Popi is false advertising! :illgetu:

=hugs= ouuuah not good with the blood sugar.

We also drink a lot of Kool Aid, but we don't put NEARLY as much sugar in it as it calls for. Or do we... I'll have to look at the packets again to be sure about that.

haha, canned spinach can be yuck! hehe!

No no, with the salad it's fresh, uncooked baby spinach. Like a lettuce leaves, only spinach. If you get them right, they can be really good tasting. I found that the strawberry juices make like a dressing and it's REALLY delicious. *_* I also prefer romaine lettuce over iceberg, but I'll eat iceberg any day of the week, ho ho ho ^_~
