They're too legit to quit.
x' D

Exactly. And I hear -from a teacher of mine- that there was some sort of shut of valve that could have been put in place, that would have helped in this type of situation.

-ultimate facepalm-

I mean why WOULDN'T you invest in that.
It would have cost a good chunk of money, but it's nothing compared to how much the company is losing now, not to mention that they'll GOING to pay for the clean up efforts. And that's just the damage from a corporate view point.
Those waters are trashed, and there are plenty of people losing jobs over it.
Worst thing that could happen during a recession.

They're not going to clean it up. They don't have to.
It has been twenty years since Exxon Valdez, and there's still oil there. In fact, the courts awarded a "win" to Exxon just recently. They no longer have to pay for damages, restitution, or cleanup.

Fabulous, right?

@ Crane: You've got to be joking....

Who's going to clean it up then? Isn't it international waters...? Which means US is somehow going to have to foot the bill, and not to mention we're going to get a load of shit from the Carribean nations. x_x

There is just soo much wrong with that picture.
I mean if I had a gun and it went of while in my hands -I accidentally fired- and soemone got hit and died, they don't say oh, it was an accident, your badsies, and you're free to go.
I'd get charged with some form of manslaughter. Whether I meant to or not, I caused harm/damage and so I would have to pay for it.

You spilled your oil, so now you should clean it up. And if you need help with that, hire out people.
>:' [

edit ::
Isn't BP, BRITISH petro. ?
I don't see why they should be able to shrug ownership of the oil when it's no longer a possible profit for them.

This is why our world is dying. I can only imagine the pain of those hardcore environmentalists. @[email protected]

Their stock has dropped about 35% since the public announcement of the oil rig exploding, sinking, and then leaking. Even then, the executives have virtually nothing to lose with this incident. They still have great homes, fabulous yachts, and plush paychecks.

No, the water along the coast of Florida isn't international waters. There's a particular sovereignty line that it will cross (and perhaps already has beneath the surface). British Petroleum lied at first, telling the press that it was ONLY surface oil. Miraculously oil just floats to the surface and you can scoop it out with your hand, right?

Believe me, someone is profiting.

Probably, uhg. BP was on my list of good companies, because they previously had a decent record, I think, of handling shit like that, unlike Exon/Mobile, which never properly cleaned up previous spills AND a lot of their gas stations and stuff around the country don't follow safety standards.

For example, the ones in Queens, NY for the LONGEST time were poisoning the tap water and causing cancer, because of old wells and stuff with leaks.

They probably think that because of the spill, they can jack up the price of oil for extra profits.
Making up shit or something.

They were already gauged, lol.
Regardless, I think they're actions were wrong. But our government (the previous administration) did a fabulous job with regulations. They allowed virtually anything to go through, and did "self checkups". I'm upset with the media, really.

Instead of reporting actual news and real facts, they decided to concentrate on the President getting a new dog, or bitching about celebrity marriages.
And I am so sick of hearing fluff stories.

I have two sets of the event item rares plus an extra swing into spring, all six tools with some extra hammers, and almost all the items I want from the event store. So, I am doing quite well with it. ^.^

Im not feeling the flowers they put in though... I just bought one, realized it didn't go with anything I had, then sold it back for gold XD

You should have waited two days until the commons left the shop. Then you could have gotten all your gold back since the items will double in price.

If you just want to convert credits to gold, then it doesn't matter what you get.

I try to get things I might like to use, though.

You could try a new topic? Like..."I saw this great movie the other day.."?

I saw Prince of Persia in the theatre; I thought it was pretty funny.
