Yeah, the advantages of having OCD

Ahh, that works. I'll just stay up here in MO and keep my mouth shut then. How's that? ;)

Being distracted in and of itself can be good fun. But, when you have something you need to get done, having OCD can be an advantage (and sometimes a disadvantage).

too true. I'm pretty good about finishing tasks that have a time limit. its anything that has a really faraway deadline or none at all that I don't finish.

Mmm, yeah. I tend to push myself too much towards perfection (or as close as possible for me) and usually end up burning myself out on the subject at hand at the time.

well that doesn't sound like fun! I just stop doing things when I love the muse for it.

Yeah, that's one of the disadvantages of being OCD. The other disadvantage is not being satisfied with the quality of something you did, so you do it over and over again until you're satisfied with it, which wastes a lot of time. :XP

well, I do that with art but I think that's because I have low self esteem! :gonk:

I have low self esteem when it comes to my art as well. But I tend to do the "redo" thing with a lot because of my OCD. Especially with my art and games. Sometimes with my RP posts, too.

I'm so glad I'm not that perfectionistic or else I'd never get anything done.

Yeah. That's when it sucks to be OCD. At least I'm not as bad with my OCD as some other people I've met.

I've met people that allow their OCD to control every aspect of their lives. They can't step on cracks in the sidewalk, must have a certain number of each color of candy in a bag of M&Ms, must have a certain number of kisses/hugs from individuals, and so on. I'm glad I'm not that bad. :XP

I read a book about someone like that. he had to wash his hands four times. o.O it just sounds so horrid to not even have control of it. compulsions are not fun.

My ex-father-in-law was like that (still is, as far as I know). Although, I don't think it's so much a certain number of times per day, but more along the lines of feeling like he needs to do it every like 15 - 20 minutes or something like that. The thing that really makes it strange is that he washes his hands with rubbing alcohol rather than with soap and water.

Meh, it has a strong smell if you're not used to it, since it's like straight alcohol. The bad thing about rubbing alcohol is that it dries your skin out. And he uses it like it's water. So I can only imagine how that affects his hands after using it so much. :XP

Didn't she have "help" with that through her dance partner or whatever? That doesn't really qualify as a wardrobe malfunction in my opinion. *shrugs*

They used to show wardrobe malfunctions on America's Funniest Home Videos all the time, though. Usually guys with pants falling off.

Yeah, same here. Every time someone talked about it, I was like "So? It's not like she's got anything any other woman doesn't have. So she decided to show it off. Big deal." Of course, that was after hearing about it for like a week straight. Guess I got kinda tired of hearing everybody raving about it.
