I'm not all that outdoorsy either, but it can get really hot here during summer and I'd prefer to spend that time at home where I know the air conditioning works and no one will care if I take most of my clothes off xD

Where are you from, crane?

One thing I'm glad about working in a clinic is that only every now and then we go outside to train. Otherwise, we stay indoors and...treat patients. xD

Well, my PH just ended. 72 credits out of it... Not a bad haul. Anywho, I think I'm gonna go take a nap to try to appease my body (since it's obviously not happy with the amount of sleep I've been depraving it of).

Right now, I have my air conditioning on.

I hope that I will not be suffering much when I am in Wisconsin. D;

It was humid last year and it was horrible.

@H: Have a good night!

Right now I have the air conditioner on, but it's not cool at all. >_<; I need to set up my fan some time so I won't burn up once the temperatures rise more. I'm going to be so miserable when it gets sticky humid!

lol, this is a bit of a pointless topic to debate xD

the weather's different everywhere and the school year reflects it and everyone's going to have different opinions based on what it's like where they're from...

I hate the sticky humid. D;

I might as well buy a fan, just in case.

My air conditioner sometimes does not work during the daylight hours.

Well, what about different schedules during the year?
I've heard that some European schools have two weeks on, two weeks off, two weeks on, etc.

We just have these small blocks of school; start later, and end earlier. One or two vacations.

It is different for everyone.

Here were I live, there are year round schools.

Some schools can be on vacation while the other are not.

But, they do get switched around.

yeah our schedule during the year is different too
highschools have three two week breaks during the year as well as the longer one over summer

in uni we have a two week break in the middle of each semester, a month or so break between semesters and the longer break over summer

My college goes year round, which I was like damm.

But, I told the director that I had other things in the summer that I had to do.

So, I will be returning to school in September.

He was like, 50 percent of the kids that go on break, do not come back. >_>

In nothing useful, lol.
I was hoping Bio-engineering, but I think I'm going to shoot for something more oriented to my strengths. I've no idea what that would be.

my uni runs summer and winter schools, but they're two week intensive courses, 9 - 5 every day for two weeks and then that subject is over

most people here don't travel for uni unless they come from the country or can't get into the course they want in their state so it's easy enough to do a class in summer or winter

@Tori: I'm studying Visual Communication, majoring in graphic design I guess
the whole major/minor thing isn't really used here, we just do a course and for my course we choose to do either graphics or illustration at the start of second year

goodnight Sakura!

Have a good night, Sakura!

*curious about what Visual Communications is, googles* xD

@crane: Have you tried talking to the counselors to help you find a major?

@slowtrain: Holy cow, that is intensive. o_o I don't think I would have liked to been in those two week courses. xD I do really miss college though...

Asking what your major is can be so mundane.

What do you guys plan on doing? I mean, once you earn a degree or get a job, what is the ultimate goal?

All the counselors I've chatted with were ridiculous.

People change a lot though, even though they're dead set on doing something freshman year. I know most people I went to college with were all trying to get into medical school to become doctors. Almost all of them at graduation time ended up switching to other fields like business, communication, and social work. xD

guess so Sakura!
goodnight!

@Tori: I did one in January this year and it wasn't too bad
it was black and white photography so it wasn't too work intensive or intellectually straining, just a lot of time spent going crazy in the darkroom xD

I'm doing another this November called Idea Generation Methods for Designers which a lot of people from my course did in January and apparently it's really good, but a bit mentally draining, so I don't know how that's going to go, but we'll see

----------

@crane: I want to hopefully work as a graphic designer in a studio, and maybe someday start my own studio ^^

Oooh, fun! I hope that works out for you.

Mmhm. Most of the time it's because of all the work you have to do to be in the medical field.
The chemistry department is godawful at my university. The professors are pompous and incompetent.

thanks crane ^^

the concept of majoring and minoring confuses me a little bit
it seems a lot more complicated than the system here xD

in fact the whole way that American colleges work, from what little I can gather from books and movies, makes very little sense to me xDD

@slowtrain: I took photography in high school and loooved developing my own film! I just pictured a 9-5 classroom lecture. xD I get fidgety when stuck in a room for too long looking at powerpoint slides, no matter how interesting the speaker is.

Idea Generation Methods...that sounds really interesting. I would have signed up for it!

Minors are kind of...pointless. They were just extra classes to fulfill the requirement. ^^;

@crane: Our chemistry department was kind of like that. I was extremely intimidated by some of the professors, because they were so demeaning when you asked questions to clarify things from their lectures. >_>;; Already bad enough that I don't like chemistry. xD
