Shadow followed him, sitting down in one of the dining room chairs. "Possibly...I learned on my own, for the most part, but when I did encounter one of my kind, he told me about the Lampshade...gave me a few of my own to grow."

“But I would think that there are better ways of protecting yourself. It just seems odd that there would not be.” Flipping what he had cooking he turned and leaned on the counter. “Do you have spell books?”

"I do. Quite a few. They are up in my room, if you want to fetch them later," Shadow hummed. "I am not sure. I haven't heard of any other ways of protecting myself from the sun..."

“Well I was just thinking that there has to be a spell in one of them that can be altered to work for you. But I think I should wait till I have mastered the spells you set me unless you have a beginner’s spell book.” Angelo looks hopeful that he had that spell book.

"I have a beginner's book. It has greenhorn spells in it," Shadow informed him, pleased. He'd kept it for quite a long time, and had planned to pass it down to his apprentice.

“Then I think it would be good that I study it as well as learn what you have to teach me.” Turning around Angelo muttered about being stupid and not paying attention to what he was cooking. How he was going to burn the food if he was not carful.

"All right." Shadow didn't bother him further. Instead, he daydreamed for a bit, patiently waiting for him to finish.

Finishing up his cooking he set the food in front of Shadow. “Sorry about the slight burn on the food forgot to check it soon enough.” Setting the second half of it on his plate he pulled out two flat breads and some dipping sauce for them. “So what will I learn today? More water?”

"Do you want to learn more water, or try a different element?" Shadow asked, pleasantly, as he started to eat.

Dipping his bread in the olive Oil sauce Angelo sighed. “I think I would be best for me to learn all I can in one element before moving on to the next one.” he cut a piece of the meat that he had cooked and laid it on the bread. “That way I am not getting all mixed up as we jump back and forth.” Nibbling on his food he sighed.

"All right, that works. Water it is." Shadow ate contently, dipping his food occasionally and eating it along with the bread.

Nibbling at the food Angelo watched Shadow, he had spent so much time with this man but he still did not know that much of him. “Tell me more of your life before you were made a vampire.”

"I lived out my first six years with my parents, in my own personal hell," Shadow answered, after swallowing a mouthful of food. "My sister fled with me when I turned six...after our parents branded us demons and kicked us out of the house, they had gotten the entire village to play along, too. I lived with my sister for many years. She was eight when we ran away. She was seventeen when she died. I was fifteen. After her death...I wandered the streets alone, doing...anything...for money. Until I was attacked...changed."

“Oh… I am sorry; you don’t have to tell me anything else if you don’t want to.” Angelo sounded sad that he had even asked.

"There isn't much else to tell, anyway..." Shadow finished up his food, looking dreamily content. "Mm. When do you want to start your lessons?"

"now if you don't mind." picking up the dishes Angelo put them in the sink and hurried to the pool out back.

Shadow went with him, glad to see he was so eager. He would have to be careful, though...he didn't want him getting hurt.

As Shadow reached the pool Angelo was just starting with what he had learned yesterday. Finding that he could do that well he added more water to it before stopping and waiting for Shadows next instruction.

"Now...this is a little more difficult." Shadow started off doing the same thing he'd done yesterday, but then froze the water in place, creating an ice-like tower around him.

“can you do that again? I did not catch what you did.” even though Angelo said that he had not caught it he did try to do it. Which ended up with the water in the pool being a bit colder than it had been before.

Shadow unfroze the water and let it fall back into the pool before repeating his action. He funneled his thoughts to Angelo so he could see how he did it, mentally.

Catching the trick of it, it did not take Angelo too long to learn this one. as he did it a few time over the feeling of fuzzy head started again. “I think it is time for me to stop now. I am feeling the fuzzy headed feeling again.” They had been at it for most of the morning, a bit longer then they had yesterday.

Shadow nodded. "Do you want to head back with me? I have some shopping to do today, so I should get that done soon...do you want to go with me?"

“I think I need a bit of a nap, how about you leave the book out for me so that I can look it through when I wake from my nap?” now that he had a feel for what he was getting into he really wanted to know ever thing about what magic was.

"It is upstairs in my bookcase. Everything is in alphabetical order--you should be able to find it," Shadow assured him, starting on the walk back. "Is there anything in particular you want me to purchase today, while I'm out?"
