Lots of people seem to be talking about birthdays. I'll be 20 this year, round numbers always seem a bit scary. ^^;

Turns out 16 wasn't scary at all. IN fact, it was the best birthday I've ever had :D

I got copic markers, a fancy "moleskin" sketchbook, a Len (the vocaloid) model and a book of expressions to help with my art :D I'm sure there's something else I've forgotten...

I want copic markers but they don't sell them locally, and I don't want to buy them without seeing them first, D:

They're really high quality and blend pretty well, but of course practice makes perfect with even some of the worse quality stuff. :3
Um, but you could get Prismacolor markers which work just as well[[maybe even better, depending on preference]] and they're a bit cheaper than Copics.

But if you meant you'd like to see them in person so you could see the actual color on paper instead of just online then oh~ x]

Yeah.... I'm a total novice at art. 100% beginner kindergarten level. I'm still trying to learn to draw straight lines, and I'm 23, ~_~;

And you can always use the cheaper markers so you can get better before you try out some of the more expensive ones.

I doodle a lot~ And prefer colored pencils over markers, but that's really only because I haven't really used markers at all.

Any tips for getting better with lines? It's like my hands shake while I draw, so I get the most random jumps in my lines, xD;

It's mostly just practice. x3

I had some pretty shaky lines too, and I noticed that a lot of people who draw end up having a shaky hand a lot, I guess cause their hand isn't used to drawing but used to writing. And your hand gets less shaky as you draw more. :3

And I looked at an art book once and some of the tips it had was sometimes if you're just bored just practice drawing lines going one way, then the other, like short strokes and long ones and stuff. And to practice drawing circles and squares, like basic shapes. :3 That way your hand kinda gets used to it, and those shapes and lines are what make up every drawing when you look at the basic shapes.

i have copic markers! i got them at the last anime cons i went to but im not good at using them -_-; im really not that great of an artist but i try lol
