Work has been crazy today.

super busy? we drove past and if we hadn't had bahama bucks i probably would have stopped

It was a pretty steady stream and downright flooded at times. We as usual have newbies preclosing which doesn't help even if this gal is super cool. We were on track but just got behind when we had to run lunches.

ah yeah newbies make it so difficult. that's at least half of our night crew right now. and it's like you can't run as smoothly.

Since our night crew it three people plus a precloser, it's pretty essential for everyone to be there and on the top of their game. Closing shifts are actually the worst for training new people but at least this girl has been in some in the mornings. We can't spare a person to babysit during closes unless we're slow although we're used to it and manage.

we have a 50/50 ratio with various levels of needing babysitting (including some of the non-new people who need babysitting) so i can't even imagine closing. i'm glad i just work the mid-shifts those are bad enough
lunch is worst for us to train though. we're too busy

you'd think morning would be the worst for us to train for that reason, but it's best. There are more people on the floor in general and you can put newbies on bar after a few solid lessons because you have two people working it. Keeps the flow going and the second bar can help and teach as they make drinks. Because really, the only way you learn how to deal with a rush is by being a part of it.

yeah. i mean early morning is probably the best time for us to train. cuz it's slow enough but there are enough people that you can get people prepped for when the rush hits.

I'm not excited to work mornings again though.
