There's a name the manga creator considered for HK, but he stopped naming characters before it was finalized and there are a lot like that. I like Li Xiao Chun. I think I've seen him something Xiao or Xiang or something before. Why is there a Chun on the end of this name though? Can I drop it? I don't know how Chinese names work, so I'm scrolling through fanfics trying to see what other's use.

So far I've seen one Xiao, at least three Leon, one fab story that called him Hong Kong when everyone else had human names DX, and Kaoru. I read Kaoru is a fan favorite in Japan...but the name is Japanese in itself. I'm not going to use it.

yeah no. creepy is not my cup of tea.
and i get so stuck into my understanding of dominance. once i see someone as a sub, i have a really hard time reading them in the other position. i blame being mostly a dom myself (switch with a hell of a lot of dom tendencies)

Seems about 60% of the fics use Leon I guess because other people don't get Chinese names either? It was one of the names the manga creator considered. I'll just go against the grain and use Xiao anyway. ^^' Just because England snatched him up doesn't mean he wasn't first given a Chinese name.

eh submissiveness doesn't have anything to do with bottoming for me. it's about headspace. you can be topping and still be submissive.

me either, but there's a certain amount of I look for someone who has an interesting/cute reaction and become charmed by it. My cute tends to be atypical and all sure, whoever charms me while being submissive. I guess the important thing is submissive not bottoming, but I usually keep those in line except in small moments where a relationship mixes it up.

again i think it's because i might as well be a dom, but i get really into the sub's headspace and how they think about submission and pleasing the person.
so when i see someone who just has those traits requesting someone else to act like that for them it sets of all sorts of alarm bells.
especially when it's a character i've identified it on the opposite end of the spectrum

I have a weird way of picking who I like as sub. Certainly sometimes I see a stereotyped and immediately go against it. I'm sure there's something in each character I think makes them suited for it, but it's not all the same thing and it's not something I think about.

i really do it on the things that make a sub.
and i think about it a lot. even outside of D/s stuff because seriously once i've thought of a character in that way i can't think of them not in that way
