I look at the titles to buy, but just browsing, I like to look at the pictures just to look at them.

dystopias are really trending. O.o I don't know what other trend might come along. Vampires are almost always trending.

I didn't think vampires were really that much more popular now. People just notice it more because they're thinking about it.

i would say they're more popular in young adult fiction. and now it's died off. it's been replaced with dystopias

I noticed much more how utterly popular dystopias are.
Job applications are retarded.

they're obnoxious

vampires were always like that though. Dystopias is noteworthy because they were always more in the shadows. Not dead or anything, but popularity shot up like crazy.
other than most being built only for those with work experience, I have a special hatred for any online form that makes you pick your school from a pre-made list because mine is never in there. And the box given to fill in information like that always has a tiny word limit.

i don't really think they were. and if they were they weren't popular as anything but a villain. they aren't exactly villains anymore.
ugh that's super obnoxious.

ya think? Vampires? They have always been popular in romance. Less in teen fiction, but they always seemed popular to me.
I hate when it requires 'company' in your references information. You've got to have a work relationship with them.

i think maybe we're talking about a different scale of popularity? like is ay there's always been interest but i don't think they've ever been super super super popular like they are post twilight. that's what i mean
yeah.

I admit they're more popular now, but I still stand that they were quite popular before. That the jump wasn't that enormous.
I'm going to have to finish it later because I don't have all the info at hand now.

my first real exposure to vampires as anything outside of a villains capacity was the carpathians series.

I read that. Hm, I don't know what all else I read, but there were things. Had to be because I was writing it. I had already built up a canon in my head about good vampires.

I liked dragons most, some witches. There's a lot of animal related things on my bookshelf too. Either animal main characters or shape shifters.

i went for things that kinda had it all. you know magic-wielders (whether witches or something else), dragons, elves, griffins, basilisks, a little bit of everything.

i was obsessed with elves for years. it used to be all about the dragons and elves for me.
and like the lotr elves, tall and elegant, not like santa's helpers

you'd be surprised how many people i've had to clarify that for.
and just like you had a whole vampire system worked out. i had a whole elf system worked out. what the society was like.

That's sad.
My elf society was always based on lotr and dragon lance. They're quite similar.
