It's very true. Internet made the world infinitely smaller and that's amazing. Maybe a little frightening if you're old, but I love that I can have international friends with ease.

i've always kinda had that vague interest. i like knowing how other people go through life and how it's different than mine.

so my dad and i got into a conversation last night cuz he tried to say jiujutsu or something (may have been judo) was Korean. And I was just like no, that word doesn't sound like a Korean word, it sounds like a Japanese one. And he was like what. So I pulled up Hapkido and Taekwondo to talk about in contrast of sound and how they sound different from Japanese words. My dad was just like what.

I watched a set of YouTube videos called Germany vs USA for sorta research back when I was writing my novel length fic. But mostly I just liked watching them. It's an interesting series..

They are. Even better if you can excuse it as research.

I mean, it's hard at first. If you don't know any of any of the languages, it all sounds like greek. It's a lot easier to distinguish them if you have spent a little time seeing each one.

I like Korean a lot. The names are pretty easy to understand. They're very different from Japanese names. A little more similar to Chinese.

I've noticed I tend to favor languages that are more known for favoring harsher more abrupt sounds. the the hard stops like k and g. and that overall tend to be 'touch' sounding languages.
it's why i like german and old english so much

I favor softer languages, but I also really like Swedish.
