If you still want examples, I can probably find one on fanfiction.net pretty quickly. They're usually the first kind of character a young writer creates.

:nod: No problem. I mean, we all "know" what they are, it's just a matter of finding the right label. Oh, and there are "Gary Stu" characters, of course, too. That's one of the main reasons I try to avoid using OCs in fan-based RPGs.

Yeah. Makes perfect sense to me. I mean, I like the idea have having your own made up character in a world that somebody else created but I usually like to keep it to myself cuz it usually ends up pretty silly. i actually don't do fan rps cuz of that mostly. this is actually my first one :)

Early morning -- I have to take my cello in for some repair work (it's buzzing on some notes, and that usually means a crack, which is expen$ive :cry:) and I want to beat the usual traffic. They've been doing horrid construction which closes down one lane of a two-lanes-each-way main road, even during commute hours, and since this is Los Angeles no one knows how to merge politely.

No, don't worry. I shouldn't have been *quite* so subtle. When you read book five eventually, you'll probably catch the hints (the house-elf heads, the troll's leg, the will). I should have written it more plainly. No problem; having her in a new house will make me work a little harder, and give me an opportunity to try my hand at making up a location, which I haven't yet done.
