Thanks. :) Actually, the round of papers I graded this afternoon could have been a lot worse. They had to write on either disco or "womyn's music," as well as take apart a pop song of their choice, looking for queer/LGBTQ readings and meanings. I haven't yet had a completely incomprehensible paper, which makes me happy.

Seriously? *goes to read article* Dells suck in general...someone I used to know always got a Dell computer (though not by choice) and something would ALWAYS go wrong with it (i.e. Blue Screen of Doom, among many others). So eventually we made the joke that went with the quote, "Dude you're getting a Dell!" The accurate response would be a, "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!"

I switched to Macs from a Dell desktop in 2002, and haven't looked back. Macs aren't perfect, but at least when they crash you don't get a blue screen; you get the Spinning Rainbow Wheel of Death, or at worst a polite little grey-out which comes down in a curtain across your screen and says, in normal font (rather than ghastly DOS font), that something went wrong, and you need to restart your computer. In four languages, at least. :P

Sorry I haven't been around much. I have a grant proposal due in a little over a week. If I win this, I'll get funding to go to Japan for a year and dig around in film archives and stuff, and it'll basically transform my life and work, so it's kinda really really important.
