If you haven't played the Grandia Series games then you are missing a really good RPG series. I think the second one is the best in my humble opinion. Of course you have the main hero which is Ryudo, who is a warrior based class known in the game as a geohound with his Hawk campion Skye. He is caught up in a main battle between good and evil when he meets a young songstress for Grannas the God of Light to protect her and her sisters who are doing a ceremony to seal away a part of Valmar, the God of Darkness when the ceremony goes horribly wrong and Elena, the songstress is the only one to survive. Now Ryudo finds that Elena has been possessed by the wings of Valmar and bad memories begin to resurface in his mind then he decides to accompany Elena to the main cathedral of Grannas to have the curse removed from her.

The journey begins. The story is awesome and the characters are unforgetable. The battlesystem is a fun one turn based. This should be a game that no RPGer should miss either. If anyone else has played this game, by all means, feel free to share your opinion about this wonderful game.

Personally I liked the first game way more than the second one. It had characters I could relate more to and Feena wasnt as bland as Elena.
I know alot of people prefer the second installment but I don't :/
Don't get me wrong though, it's a great game worth any rpg fans time.

It should also be said that the PS2 version of Grandia II should be avoided. It's best to go after the Dreamcast version or alternatively the PC version (running on windows XP with a geforce)

The first one was actually really good. I would love to see them do a remake of the first Grandia on the Play Station Three or something like that. It also has a great story line. The characters like in the second are just as lively and animated. Feena is an awesome character and I like Justin's spunk. I thought the Play Station Two version seems ok other than it lags like a joke which is really annoying. I had the version on dream cast and actually still do but unfortunately my Dreamcast along with my gamecube and other playstation Two was stolen from me along with some other articles a few years ago. With that being said, I liked the dreamcast version. I just found this copy in the gamestop in town and thought it would be nice to play it once more. I didn't know they had a PC version of this game. So far the Play Station two version isn't too bad, I just wished that ittt woould stoop laggging..

Oh dear, that's a whole lot of items you had stolen from you o_o
The worst I've run into was my mom throwing away gameboy cartridges.
It's not so wellknown on the PC, since almost all pc players back when it came out shunned anything not "realistic" (and black&white was realistic? still don't get them). I works better than the PS2 version but it still has alot of bugs, mostly having to do with the sound. And if you talk to the battle instructor in the beginning it's possible not to get past the first fight with Millenia.

Sadly I wanted the Dreamcast version but the store clerk wouldnt sell me the console "cause it was a stupid" TT;
I SHAKE MY FIST AT YOU STORECLERK!

Yea, it was really tragic that it happened and I ended up moving out the following week and my landlord kept my security deposit. They were corporate pieces of shit because I broke my lease, but who in their right mind would want to live in an efficiency that people could easily break into. I just was hoping people wouldn't do that shit up in a small town where I have been living. Why wouldn't the store clerk sell you a Dreamcast? I never spoke to the battle instructor at the beginning of the game because I have beaten it on the Dreamcast back when I had it. I miss it... I had Code Veronica for it as well -- the Resident Evil and I also had Skies of Arcadia which I have for my gamecube which was stolen but now I have a Wii. I had a few other games I couldn't quite remember.

By the way have you played Grandia III and Grandia Xtreme? Are you from England?

So many fancy games, it's was such an underrated nice console.
I dunno why, I think the storeclerk tried to shove his own ideas onto people :< but the console was behind the counter so I couldnt really do anything about it.

I havent played Grandia III nor Grandia Extreme. I'm afraid the third will ruin the fun I've had with the previous installments. I watched the trailer for it and it just seems uninspired. (and Grandia Extreme I just never saw in any store)
I'm not from England, I'm from Sweden :)

The third installment is ok, it's better than xtreme in my opinion. It's about a boy who wants to be a pilot and break away from his mother's over protective ways. It turns out being the adventure of a life time when he and his best friend make this plane that he intends to fly but his mother sneaks into the ship and as he's flying she confronts him but tells her the plane was only built for one person and they end up crashing in the forest. They encounter a female elf who seems to be running from something, and they get involved in this whole quest to stop her brother from siding with the power of darkness. It's ok, not one of my favorites but the graphics are definitely awesome. Xtreme was just long and tedious, but the cool thing about that one is that you get a shit load more characters to choose from which is really cool.
Sucks that the counter clerk was being a jerk. I want to go to Sweden one day, perhaps whenever I'm able to move to England I will be closer and have the opportunity. You guys over there are on the Euro as well now correct?
