Syrine smiled. "Well, I can be quite... playful, if I do say so myself." She winked. She gently took his hand, careful of her burns. "Lead the way, I can't wait to see what mayhem we can cause." Using her other hand to shift her shoulder bag. "I'll say this, I'm greatful you didn't decided to welcome me in such a sense."

Dex flashed her a smile, "Of course not. I would do no such thing to such a beautiful vampiress such as yourself. I'm much more of gentleman to other vampires then I am to humes or weres. I ,myself, view vamps as having a higher class ranking then humes and especially weres; it's just how I am."
Dex took her hand and led her in the direction of the commons, "What luck, an entire group of newbies. Ah, look at that one there; he's practically begging to be welcomed." he said sarcastically.
He nodded at the new guy standing by himself on the edge of the commons. The guy seemed to be lost in some kind of depressing thought as he and Syrine walked over. "Hello. My name is Dex and this is Syrine. Who might you be?" Dex's voice was velvety smooth as he addressed the boy.

Syrine looked at Dex. "As do I. Humans are alright, but weres... they're just animals..." She smiled. Most of the vampires she met had a 'new-aged' view of all races being equal. She was quite impressed.
She looked to the group he was gesturing towards. "Oh yes! He's lovely." She grinned. After Dex made introductions, she smiled sweetly at the boy "It's a pleasure to meet you."

Dex smiled at the boy, showing off his sharp teeth. "So I hear that you're new. Well, would you like us to give you a.....tour of the academy? It's quite large....very easy to get lost." He smirked at Syrine who smiled back. This was going to be fun.

Startled by two people interrupting his thoughts, Kail's hand instinctively shot to his waist where he kept his prosthetic claw. However, seeing that they didn't intend to attack him, he lowered his hand. Then he realized that they were vampires. Kail didn't like to spend much time with vampires, or weres. Not because he disliked them as a species, but because he didn't like their heightened senses. It unnerved him, and he always had to be cautious so as to not reveal his secrets. The vampire boy flashed his teeth, then Kail understood what was going on. He also picked up on that the two vampires looked down on other species. "Sure! You can show me all the sights and hidden secrets, and then I can tell everyone how we're such good friends, us vampires and humans." Kail said with mock enthusiasm. He had intended to just disinterest them in himself so they'd move on, but Kail had very little experience with social interactions and didn't actually know what to expect. He shifted his posture slightly, to make sure he could defend himself if he was attacked.

Syrine gave a little whimper. "oh, now that harsh." She pouted, lowering her head so her deep red hair covered her face. "We were just tryin' to be nice. You didn't even tell us your name." She raised her head. Syrine was gently worrying her lower lip, as her body took a submissive, defensive stance.

She knew this guy wasn't going to play nice so either would she. His words told her that he knew their game and wouldn't go down without a fight. Now not one to start with violence, she'd rather use her wit, and wiles. And what is a womans most powerful weapon, if not her emotions?

Kail was rather taken aback. 'Did I misjudge them?' Having little social experience, he was unsure what to do. "Sorry?" He asked rather than stated. Physically he relaxed a little, but mentally he was confused, which probably showed on his face. "I'm Kail..." He had no idea what to do anymore. 'Is she being serious? If she is, what am I supposed to do now? This is why I hate people.' Kail adverted his eyes and gripped the small pendant on his wrist for emotional comfort, as he always did when he felt insecure.

Dex's eyes narrowed. This kid was hiding something, and point blankly, Dex wanted to know. He smiled and felt his eyes dialate slightly, "You have a special something that you're hiding. May I? Don't worry, I wont take it or anything, I just want to see. Im....curious."
He took off his sunglasses and looked down at the Kail with his vivid green eyes. Compulsion wasn't something Dex wanted to do, but he would if he felt it was necessary. As for looking down, Dex was at least a half foot taller then Kail, who seemed to be around 5'9". Dex himself was about 6'1". Very tall indeed.

Kail turned toward Dex. He wasn't nearly as surprised that Dex had figured out he was hiding something as he was surprised by how strongly he wanted to know. 'Well, at least for the moment, it looks like he thinks I'm hiding an actual object. I guess I can try to throw him off with that.' Kail moved his arm over the small pouch on his belt, which contained only a few school supplies, and fingered the prosthetic claws as if to say 'I'm prepared to fight to protect it.' Kail's plan was to try and convince him that, one, it was an object, and, two, that it wasn't worth the effort to find out. Though, it did cross his mind that his first plan hadn't exactly worked out the way he had intended it to. Despite that however, Kail fixed Dex with a cold, unrelenting stare, thinking there was nothing this boy could do to make him reveal his himself.

Syrine looked between the two boys. She frowned slightly at her shortness. Even in heels she was only 5' 5". Syrine could feel Dex's need to know what the boy was hiding, and Kail didn't seem like he was going to show.

Licking her lips and smiling, Syrine stood next to Kail, close enough to press her breasts to his arm in a teasing manner. Making sure her soft smile spread into her eyes, thus removing any chance of him thinking it was fake, she looked up at Kail and asked softly. "What has your hackles up? It was a simple question. Dex is curious by nature, as am I." Syrine looked at him innocently, her voice sweet, and slightly seductive.

If Kail's hairs hadn't been on end before, they certainly were after Syrine pressed up against his arm. His eye's lost their cold concentration and became more of a panicked confusion. He turned toward Syrine and, seeing her gazing at him so innocently, blushed slightly and quickly adverted his eyes. "I... Uh...." Kail had no idea what to do. 'Damn, what is this? Why can't I think straight! It can't be magic, that I know...' He glanced at the vampire girl then immediately turned away again. "S-sorry... I misjudged you, but I still can't...." He closed his eyes, trying to gain control of himself. "I can't tell you." Kail's fingers wrapped tightly around his bracelet pendant. 'What am I supposed to do? I've never been good with people but this... this is a new extreme.' Kail tightened his grip on the pendant, but then quickly tucked it into his sleeve as discreetly as he could. 'They're trying to find my secret, I don't want them to try and take the one personal item I have that I would do anything to protect.' Kail shifted in place and his arm moved up slightly against the vampire girl's breasts. Kail froze and was practically paralyzed in place. 'I hate people.'

Dex sighed in frustration. This wasn't going well; time to use a bit of his own influence. He looked at Kail with his vivid green eyes, the bright fuchsia flecks in them burning brightly, "We're not going to take whatever you have, but actually, I wasn't referring to an item. I know you have a secret, but you're quite good at blocking every little nook and crannie in that head of yours. I'm very skilled at telepathy, but not when there are so many mental barricades." He said in his icy calm voice. His eyes dialated and retracted back and forth at different time lengths as he focused in on Kail's eyes.

For a moment, Kail felt as if he was being drawn in my Dex's eyes and words. He began to feel that protecting his secret was less important. Then the brief moment was interrupted and Kail knew that a form of magic was being performed on him. His hand shot up to cover his mouth and he coughed. 'Dammit! Not now!' Using his other hand, he pushed Syrine away and backed up a few steps. Just to be sure, he removed his hand slightly from his mouth, just enough that bystanders wouldn't be able to see, and glanced down. Kail's hand and mouth were covered in blood. 'Damn! I didn't expect him to use magic on me. And it was only telepathy, it's getting worse.' Kail raised his eyes to look at the vampires, prepared for anything. 'How well do vampires deal with blood?'

Syrine arched an eyebrow at Dex's suggestion, she could feel the power coming from him, and she knew that Dex would be able to over come her own strengths. Her smile tilted as Kail was influenced by the suggestion. Suddenly her smile dropped. Kail was fighting the suggestion and was pushing her away. Her eyebrow twitched. No one had ever pushed her away. When he coughed, Syra smelled blood. Instinctively she licked her lips. Then shook her head to clear the blood lust. "Kail, look at me, are you alright?" Her voice was soft and gently commanding. "You're fighting to hard." She laid her hand on his shoulder. "Trust me Kail. Why would I steer you wrong?" She gently blotted a bit of blood off of his lower lip, and tasted the blood.

Kail's head spun slightly and he felt extremely light-headed "I'm not fighting it..." He managed to say. 'I trust you, it's him I don't trust.' He saw Syrine taste his blood. 'Then again, should I trust you?' Kail decided that she seemed in control enough. Besides, he felt he needed to tell someone and, he didn't want the male vampire to try using telepathy again, though, now that he was prepared for it, Kail doubted he would have such a strong reaction to it again. "Okay, okay, I'll tell you." Kail leaned over on the ground to ease his spinning world. "A long time ago, I was... uh, exposed?... to a very high grade magic. To make a long story short, when the casting failed, the magic remained in my body, and changed it so that it rejects all magic." He paused for a moment and then turned toward Syrine. "Now that I think about it, you should probably be able to taste it." 'Can vampires taste magic in blood?' He let out a small, grim chuckle. "Well, does it taste any good?"

Licking her lips, she nodded. "There is a hint of magic. A bit unusual, what are you, type O, type AB? It's unusual, but delicious." Syra bit her lower lip. "not many people can survive such an exposure.You were very lucky." The wind picked up her hair, and she stepped back to attempt to untwist her long hair from the handle of her parasol. "oh damn." she muttered, fighting with her hair.

Dex's pupils narrowed to the point where they were as thin as a sheet of paper. He smirked, "It's not often I find someone who can fight off my compulsion.....It's rare anyone would dare to resist me, period. What exactly are you Kail? Firstly, you're new; secondly, you're awfully secretive; and lastly, no one knows anything about you." He took a step closer to Kail, taking a few seconds to show him just how powerful he was.
Briefly, Dex exposed his aura, a dazzling gold with splashes of bright green, and then spoke to Kail through telepathy. 'I'm warning you now, that way you have the chance to act wisely. Don't think that you're going to get off as easilly next time. I know for a fact that you're hiding something and, truthfully, this is not the place to be having super important secrets, get it?' His voice echoed in Kail's head powerfully, knocking all his thoughts in every which direction. 'There are things going on in this school that you wouldn't even begin to comprehend; things not even all the teachers know about. I'm going to solve this mystery and I don't need you adding another one onto my plate. This is a warning because next time, you may not be so lucky.'

"Dex, leave him alone." Xane walked over, his dark green eyes narrowed slightly in frustration. Making his way over to Kail, he stood in between him and his brother. "I leave you alone for one class and already you're picking on some new kid. Enough is enough Dex, I don't want to have to talk to you about this again. It's getting riduculus." Then, he turned to Kail and smiled, "I'm very sorry about my brother. Please do forgive his, ah, personality. Hmm, why don't you come have lunch with me and one of my friends? She's a hume too, and no, I'm not going to eat you both. I already ate." Still smiling, he led Kail away from Dex and Syrine, back over to the plaza. 'Dex, you need to learn your place in this school. It's not required nor wanted by anyone for you to harrass people. I'm so serious Dex, back off!'

Syrine frowned as Dex spoke, her hair forgotten. Her eyes widened as he spoke, and goose bumps covered her pale flesh. "Dex! Thats enough! This isn't fun anymore." Her voice was unsteady as he unleashed his aura. "Dex please, your frightening me." her lips trembling, she sat down on the cool grass. She wanted him to stop. Dex's powers, they were impossible. She had never known a vampire that strong. Sure, some where stronger than her, but compared to him, she felt powerless and weak. She wanted nothing more than to hide in the shadows, but fear kept her still at the same time.

As the other boy approached, she lifted her head. The boy had no fear of Dex, she could see a family resemblance. 'brothers perhaps?' she thought. He spoke to Dex without any fear, so she assumed his brother. 'please let him get Kail out of here....' she thought, closing her eyes.

Kail followed Xane away from the scene. Still sensing the telepathic connection, Kail replied directly to Dex. 'I don't need to comprehend all the secrets, just one of them. After that, come at me with all you got, I couldn't care less.' Kail turned around briefly and glared at Dex. 'However, I wont let you stop me before that, no matter what it takes. I tried to appease you this time, but if you ever try to force my hand again, I assure you, no matter the cost to myself, I will make you regret it. And another thing, you like mysteries, right? Well, let me tell you this, I found a flaw in your aura, one I specifically train to take advantage of, so don't think you can beat me unscathed with sheer power alone. You shouldn't have shown it to me.' Kail forced closed the telepathic connection and turned toward Syrine. 'She's scared... That's an emotion I haven't felt in a long time, though I remember it all to well.' He gripped his pendant and continued after Xane. "Thanks, that looked like it was about to get... messy. I'm Kail by the way, and you are...?"

Xane grinned at Kail, "My name's Xane Kindo. I'm Dex's twin incase you hadn't noticed. Sorry bout that whole thing..... He can be, ah, well rather demanding at times. Really, he's not that bad of a guy, but he insists on not being left out of anything. I don't know why, he's always been like that."

Dex flashed Kail and Xane a smile in amusement, "Why hello dear brother. I didn't hear you approaching. Sorry our.....welcome didn't suit you well Kail. Perhaps next time we'll get off on a better foot." He turned to Syrine as Xane and Kail walked away, "I'm sorry about that. Got a little carried away I guess. I promise, it won't happen again." His smile of contemp turned into one of warmth, "I have the feeling that he's hiding something, don't you?"

Syra relaxed a bit. Now that she was calm, she quickly shifted into mist, just long enough to untangle her hair. When misting back her parasol shifted, the sunlight touching her. "Damnnit!" She curse bringing her parasol back up. She took a deep breath. "It's alright Dex. I just...." She stood up. "I just panicked at your level of power." She glanced up at him, pulling her resolve together. "You strength is incredible. How old are you?" her voice betrayed her wonder.

Dex smirked at this question. It had been a very long time since he was asked that. "165 years, going on 166 this February. I'm one of the few exsisting half-blood vampires to have all the powers of a pure-blood. Most of them have been killed over the years, but no one I've met has been able to overcome my strength......that is till now." His eyes narrowed in frustration, "I can't say that it doesn't bother me either. It's going to bother me until I figure out just what he is. But," He paused briefly and turned to face Syra, "It can wait. There are other more important things to attend to right now....such as the beautiful vampiress standing before me." Flashing her a chaming smile, Dex held out his hand for her to take, making sure it was benieth the shadow of the parasol. "Would you like to take a leisurly stroll with me in the woods. It's very shadey there at this time of day."

Syra mused."I would never have guessed you were a half blood. A half blood with the strength of a normal pure..." she sighed. "Consider yourself lucky, I'm a pure blood from a weak lineage." Then she smiled. "Well I'm glad to know that all your power isn't due to age. You're not that much older than me. Only 16 years. I just turned 150." Her face gave a soft tint, of a blush when he called her beautiful. Taking his hand she gave a soft giggle. "I would be delighted to."

Kail nodded. "I've encountered people like him before. However, this is the first time I've seen one who actually had the power to back it up. The others just wanted to st-" He cut himself short. "So, you said you were his twin? You two have quite different demeanors... 'This isn't good. I'm getting too familiar with him. I can't do that... with anyone.' Anyway, I appreciate the offer, to meet your friend that is, but I'm not so keen on new people. However, if you could direct me the library, I'd be grateful." 'With Dex the way he is, it wont be long before he comes back to try and figure out more. I have to hurry and finish, though, I don't know how long it will take.'

Xane frowned, "Uh okay. Go down that hall and when it branches into the four-way cross section, take a left. The library's the second door on the right."
His eyes narrowed as he thought of something. "Listen, Kail, I know you're new here and I realize you may be shy or just, ah, insecure, but I feel as though I must warn you that there are some things going on here at this school that are very shadey. I'm nothing like Dex, so I'm not going to force you to tell me, but I definately am someone you can trust. Is there anything by chance that you have hidden deep in your mind?" Pausing a moment, Xane worded his next thoughts very carefully, "Kail, you can trust me. I wouldn't tell a soul about your secret, not even my brother. I just want to help you. You seem very......distant; like you've separated yourself from the rest of the world around you. It troubles you a lot, and I know, because I could sense it before I even saw you."

Dex flashed her another smile and led her in the direction of the woods. "This is my favorite place to go hoverboarding. I get the enjoyment of being alone and avoiding collision with the ever present trees here." he mused sarcastically.
His eyes narrowing, Dex turned to Syra, "Have you noticed the sudden tranquilness of these woods? Lately they've been rather.....quiet. I didn't even hear the soft cooing of the morning doves today. Nothing. It's as if they've fled from something......or someone. He laughed and shook his head, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you if I did. Merelly speeking my mind, that's all."
