Toasters.
If i'm not feeling sick (I am a lot in the mornings) i'll pop in some toast and spread some jam. That's a heavenly breakfast for me(:

Crockpot, kitchen aid mixer, slapchop-like veggie chopper (because crying over onions is not fun : /), and my plastic jar/bottle opener thingy (I haven't had to ask my boyfriend to open any jars in a long time!). My griddle is also pretty kick-ass. I love cooking like 8 pieces of french toast on it at a time. Plus, it's super easy to clean up afterwards.

Additon: I forgot. My dishwasher. This might sound really lazy, but with working and being busy I would definitely not cook as much if I didn't have a dishwasher to aid with clean-up. Same probably with the garbage disposal. Cooking isn't fun if you know you have twelve thousand pieces of stuff to wash afterwards. : (

Sorry that you don't have a toaster. It's nice to have for toast, bagels, poptarts, etc. I'm not sure I would enjoy cooking that stuff in the oven. >.< Good luck with building your kitchen arsenal!

A crockpot is definitely on my list of things to get eventually, but it doesn't quite make my short-list since the frozen crockpot meals tend to be... not so healthy for you xD

I do love having a fully functioning dishwasher, and for now it's really useful, but I've resolved that when I own a house, I won't own one, since they use up so much water. If I'm a stay-at-home mom, I won't mind spending time on dishes.

I also have a garbage disposal, but I don't actively use it. It's nice for stuff that accidentally goes down the drain, but I'd still rather throw stuff into a compost (not that we have a compost either )

Yeah, frozen crockpot meals aren't the best, but if you actually make a roast or stew from scratch it is (which is what I prefer to do anyways).

I never even knew there were frozen crockpot meals. We only use it to make stews and roasts from scratch. XD I loveee stew, though. Roasts are only good when my dad doesn't screw it up.

What kind of stew do you like to make? My favorite is homemade beef and vegetable stew.

And yeah, there are complete meals you can get in the frozen food section of your grocery store. I'm not sure what other brands make them, but I know Banquet has some.

Do you just not scrape frying pans and stir everything with a plastic spoon then? Probably not? I'm actually more dubious of getting the melted spoon in my food than the actual loss of spoon.

And I've never had an electric can opener. We've had the same hand turned can opener for my whole life and it works just great. O.o

Sure I do, I guess I just have spoons rated for higher temperatures. The only time I've seen people melt spoons is by leaving them leaning against something on the stove. I've not done that myself, though.

My silicone stuff is my favorite, but I don't have any silicone spoons yet since they're expensive. They're rated up to 400F though, so there shouldn't be a huge issue with them melting anything I cook.

Bah, I'm a traditionalist. You cook with a wooden spoon. I like wooden cutting boards too, and I don't really have a reason for that.

haha same, really. Beef and Vegetable...with lots of potatoes. >.> It's also one of the few times I'll really eat carrots. I don't particularly dislike them, but I don't like them enough to go out of my way for them. XD

I loooove cooked carrots. Especially in beef stew. I totally hear ya though, I don't like carrots just by themselves cold and all. : /

I love wooden cutting boards, but mine is glass >_>

I got it because it has a sticker on the underside that has all sorts of measurement conversions.

It's slowly peeling off though ._.

I kind of like those cutting boards that have the measuring cup attached to the side, so you can scrape the stuff you cut right along into it. It's not necessary, though, and you really should go by weight instead of volume measurements, anyway, but the idea is so attractive ...

What if they made a cutting board that was a scale? Like, the whole thing is an electric scale balanced so that the weight of the board itself is 0? It's so modern! It's so cutting edge! So unnecessary! Must have! xD

I can't live without my tongs. I just use them for everything! I ended up buying two more pairs, because the one I had would get dirty, and I was too lazy to wash them. Now I have one short with plastic grips, and two long - one with plastic and one with metal grips. The metal grip one I got most recently, and I LOVE it.

LOL cutting edge....

Seriously, though. That sounds awesome. It'd have to be able to not spaz while you're cutting, though.

Pretty much just my microwave. I'm a horrible cook, so I mostly live off of things that I can pop in the microwave.

My sandwich maker/toaster is the end all of appliances for me. You can make so much stuff, provided you like sandwiches...

Personal favorites are pizza pop style sandwich and pie filling filled sandwiches.

Obviously a microwave is good too.. Umm a toaster, toaster oven, and a coffee maker are good to have too, just thought I'd toss out a different idea. Gourmet sandwiches!!

I can't have coffee, so I don't have a coffee maker. I wouldn't mind a juicer, though.

Sora: I love eggs too! I've made them a ton of different ways... haven't poached them yet though.

I love my microwave, most of my dinners are made in there since I am a crap cook and I normally have different meals to the rest of my family. It is usually soups or noodles or things that I make in there.

I am in love with my toaster too, he always makes me the best toast in the world and I doubt I could function without it.

Ditto the kettle, after working in an old folks home for a week I have become addicted to tea (seriously, it is all those old people drink!)

I can't live without spectacles, big plastic spoons, and my huge measuring/mixing bowl.
A nice set of non-sticks pans is great too.
I also love my wok. Really funny since the only thing I make in it is spaghetti. Makes a great chicken spaghetti.

I used to love my wok, it made awesome beef stir-fry but then when we moved it got lost or left behind or something, and I couldn't find another quite like it

(o_o) A wok, seriously it's the only pan I use, except for my skillets which I use for breakfast only. I'd die without my wok, it's a really good pan. d(^_^) Not for everyone though, it gets the food REALLY HOT, and most of the time I have to let it cool off or I'll burn my tongue. (>.<)/ Burning your tongue on your food, isn't fun.
