Emy chewed on the inside of her cheek and did as Léandre suggested, just to show him that Roger wouldn't be there. After about ten minutes Emy sighed and started the car again. "Hold on." She muttered to him and pulled out kind of fast and drove down the street.

Léan tilted his head slightly, lifting it as he did so. He wondered what she was going to do, exactly. He unsurely peeked up to peer out of the back window and immediately sank down again, unsure of what he just saw. He'd never seen roads before.

Emy glanced back at him and sighed a little, but softly. "I wish you could stay longer. It'd be nice to teach you about the human world and show you things. I'd like to know more about your world too." She offered as a topic of conversation. She really didn't like the silence and wanted to get her mind off of her uncle.

Léan kept up the silence for another moment as he thought. "...It should take me two weeks or so to reach the area I want to get to, and my brother, if he is worried enough, should meet me along the way there. You can come in about a month, back to the beach you plan to let me off at, and I might be there at night..."

Emy blinked and looked into the rearview mirror for a moment. "You're coming back?" She sounded genuinelly surprised.

"My brother wants to travel with me for a while. So, yes. We will come around this way in about a month," Léan confirmed. "I am not sure he is fit for traveling like I do, but he wants to try, so...I don't want to deny him the chance."

Emy smiled a little to herself. "You're a good brother." She commented softly. She hadn't been that good to her sister lately. "Well...I'll be glad to see you." She said with a smile. "I'll come alone too. If that's what you want. I didn't think you'd be very comfortable around more than just me. Especially if your brother will be there."

"You can bring along whoever you trust to keep the secret, but...please...not a lot of people," Léan requested, simply. "I will be fine with just a few. My brother is deathly afraid of humans, though."

Emy smiled slightly. "I assumed as much. Which is why I offered to come alone. And no...Roger is the only one I'd really trust to keep the secret. Maybe my father....but he's got too much on his plate to worry about me busting you out of the aquarium and setting you free." She sighed softly, then sped up when she'd gotten a little ways down the interstate. "Ok. Anything you're curious about humans at this very moment?"

"Not really...I've never been too curious about your world, no offense. Is there anything interesting you can tell me?" Léan asked, tilting his head. "Fun facts or whatnot?"

Emy actually laughed. "That's alright. I was just wondering." She laughed again when he asked if she had anything to share. "Well, fun facts? I'm not sure. I could tell you what people do. Like for a living, jobs....some people are criminals, but not all of them are bad people."

"We have a lot of jobs in our world. Criminals, as well..." Léan thought, trying to keep up the conversation and make it interesting.

Emy nodded slightly. "There are criminals in every society I suppose..." Then she thought for a moment. "What are some of the jobs like in your world?"

"We have celebrities...all your basic jobs. We don't use the energy we use--we use hydroelectric power, and keep and look after bio-luminescent fish in tanks as lights--that's another job, taking care of them, if it's lighting for the city..." Léan hummed.

Emy smiled a little, thinking about it. "Sounds like a cool place. Wish I could see one of your cities...but I can't." She shrugged slightly.

"Not without advanced fancy diving gear...or some marconium and a breather from our world," Léan amended, quietly. So there was a way for humans to go under without scuba gear. It was rather complicated, though.

Emy blinked, a little shocked. But recovered in time so she didn't run off the road. "You're saying it's possible for a human to visit your world?"

"It is difficult, but it is possible in two ways. One, with marconium, a substance found in our world, and a breather, an expensive piece of equipment used on young children who have trouble using their gills underwater. It is designed to work with lungs. The only other option is to change a human into a merperson, and that process is, er...not simple. And probably not something you'd like..."

Léan cleared his throat. "If you want to change, you will gain a tail in water--legs on land, though this only applies to humans who have been changed--and be able to breathe underwater. However, you will not be able to swim or bathe in public, because the tail will appear. Heavy, rainy days are also a concern, and you should not venture outside..."

Emy thought about everything he'd said, and she seemed very intrigued. It was a little difficult to concentrate on driving. "Ok....wait wait wait...you say that a human can turn into a merperson? Unreal....ok. Let's say, that I wanted to be one. What would have to happen for me to become one?"

Léan cleared his throat. "Erm...you have to bring a male or female merperson on land. And...sleep with them," he explained, rather sheepishly. "The proper way to change is with a 'love bite.' Our bite can change humans into merpeople, but it only works, uh...during moments of intense passion on land," he murmured, feeling a little embarrassed. "As I said, it is not easy."

Emy blushed a little and focused intensely on the road. "Oh." Was all she said for a couple minutes. "Wow....sorry for making you explain that. Guess my curiousity wasn't very well placed." Her face slowly went back to normal. "Though, one thing sort of confuses me....if you can't walk...then umm..." She blushed a little again. "How would you.....sleep with the human? Because I don't see..." But she cut off, she wasn't going to say what she was thinking.

Léan was clearly embarrassed about having to discuss this. "Um...we, uh...still have all the necessary parts. They're, uh...hidden under scales in our tails, at about the same place human parts are. They, uh...only reveal themselves when we're...in the mood." He scratched his head. "This is scintillating driving conversation..." he informed her dryly.

Emy blushed when he was done. "Umm..yes...sorry.." She chuckled nervously, then focused on driving as she tried to think of a way to change the subject.

Léan coughed, laying his head back down. That had been a very weird and interesting conversation. He attempted to think of something else to talk about.

Emy thought for a while and something stuck in her head. "You said...that your brother was married? Or was getting married or something. Didn't you? Or was that about you?"
