Emy blinked slightly and nodded. "Tridents and spears...that's interesting." Her eyes widened a little. "Magic? Seriously?"

"Trident? Is that what you call them?" Léan asked, tilting his head. "A Trident is a master of wielding tritons here in our world. I wonder if you adopted that term somehow from our language." He paused. "Yes. Magic. Erm...it's illegal to use it, unless you are certified, but..."

He lifted a hand and froze a small bit of water in front of him. It quickly thawed. "Yes. Magic."

Emy tilted her head slightly, now confused. "Tridents are the long poles with the three sharp ends on it...aren't they?" Then looked very confused at his explaination. Then shot back quickly in a sort of surprise when he froze the water. Thenquickly came to him again and gently took his hand. She turned it a little to examine it. "How'd you do that?"

"That is what we call tritons," Léan replied, puzzled. He watched her examine his hand with amusement. "You are either born with it, or you don't have it. Those 'blessed' enough to be gifted with magical abilities are snatched up by 'The Guild Of Magi.' Basically, this 'Guild' wants to control all who have magical abilities. They snatch magical children away from their parents to train them. The only thing my father did right...was keep my abilities a secret from them."

Emy looked horrified at his explaination. "That's aweful!" She took his hand in both of hers, kissing it softly, then smiled at him a little. She didn't want to say anything to upset him, so she didn't ask about his father. She then tilted her head slightly. "So...that means no chance of me having it, huh?" She sounded slightly disappointed.

"Humans can be born with it," Léan corrected. "Human society is not so accepting of those who have powers, whether they be psychic or magical...if I remember correctly, you humans fear 'witches' and 'heretics,' and do not believe in Seers."

Emy blushed slightly. "Only because we were taught to either not believe in them or to fear them....but....I did always kinda wish that they were real."

"It is very rare for humans to be born with powers. Usually, you uncover magic at an early age. But others may come later. Psychic powers...telepathy, empathy, telekinesis...mediums and seers. Those come later..." Léan had studied magic in school, so he knew about humans' abilities.

Emy shrugged slightly and looked resigned. "Guess there's no luck for me." She then smiled happily at him. "But its cool that you can do some."

"Actually, I rather wish I had some psychic powers," Léan admitted, ruefully. "I don't like having domain over ice. It's boring...I would rather see into peoples' minds, be able to predict the future. You might have one of these abilities, but there is no way to tell. Things will happen on their own."

Emy shrugged. "If it happens, it happens." Then she laughed softly. "Why would ice be boring? I've always loved cold weather. Once, I actually did an ice sculpture. It was pretty sweet, though it looked aweful." She kissed him softly. "Don't be so negative, the way I see it, you're lucky."

"Huh. I'm not lucky," Léan replied, just barely leaning into the kiss. "I...just find it boring. It really has no use, unless I use it as a weapon. I've only had to do that once...against a very violent orca."

Emy smiled and shook her head slightly. "You just haven't found anything to do with it yet." She did kiss him again though, very softly. "An orca huh?"

Léan had no problem gently responding to her kisses. "I suppose not. Though, since it's illegal in my world and I haven't been 'properly' educated, I can't use it in society." He paused. "Yes, an orca. It tried to eat me."

Emy thought a little to herself. "That's a little stupid if you ask me..." Then she blinked at him, a little amased. "Wow." Then she smiled and moved closer to him, though she didn't kiss him this time.

Léan shrugged, and then sighed, softly. "...Should we leave, soon?" he asked, quietly. "We should probably eat before we leave...and I'm afraid we're going to have to rely on your geography skills to get around," he added, hopefully.

Emy's mood didn't seem dampered when he asked if they were leaving. "I don't mind...we can leave whenever you wish." She just smiled at him, then kissed him again softly. "I have to say I feel slightly on the spot, but its ok."

Léan nodded, quietly. "All right. We should head out now and find something to eat," he murmured, unwillingly lifting himself up out of bed. "We have a long journey ahead of us."

Emy seemed to look happily content, also getting out of bed and swam in a couple quick circles to get her blood flowing. Then looked at him curiously. "Umm....what exactly do you mean by finding food?" She wasn't sure if he wanted her to try and catch her own or not.

"Hunting. I can do the hunting, but if you want to try...that's fine by me," Léan clarified, curiously. "We will have to swim up to the surface, since most of the fish down here are not good for eating..."

Emy looked at him for a moment, then nodded slowly. "Umm....I might becompletely terrible at it..." Then she smiled a little. "You're free to laugh at me if you wish though."

Léan chuckled, softly. "Mm. Well...I won't laugh, if I restrain myself. I might laugh later...but I'll try to restrain myself." He paused. "We should go, now...please, no English while we're leaving. I don't want to turn heads by using human language." He swam over to the door, opening it for her politely.

Emy resisted tackling him for that, but she grinned a little. She really would tackle him if he laughed, even though she said he could. She smiled and swam over to him, giving him a kiss on the cheek and whispered. "Ok. No talking." Then winked and went out the door and waited for him.

Léan closed the door behind her and then led the way out of the hotel. It didn't take long for them to reach city limits, and exit them. On the way back up, as the lights behind them faded, he sighed. "We can speak, now."

Emy couldn't wait to speak to him. Not to be annoying, but she just felt talkative today. She smiled happily and hugged him swiftly when he said they could talk. "Thank you, Jesus!" She kissed him quickly and swam a bit away from him, then looked around. "Where's the fishies?"
