Monty quietly disappeared for a moment, grabbing the spears, then slowly brung them back into the cave, placing them off to the side. "There." Then he moved back to Archie and pulled him back into his arms gently. "I thought I told you to sleep." He said softly with a slightly teasing tone.

Archie snuggled up into his arms affectionately, kindly. "I wanted to be awake in case something happened," he huffed, stubbornly. "I couldn't very well leave you at the mercy of some diver-creeper-thing..."

Monty couldn't help but chuckle softly. "Don't worry about me. Just sleep....I can hold off one 'diver-creeper-thing'."

Archie gave him a look that said 'You'll need help if the diver-creeper attacks.' Nevertheless, he settled down to sleep, finally. He smiled, as he finally drifted off.

Monty didn't think he'd need to wake any of them to take on a human. Besides, they would be out of their element, unlike Monty. He looked at Lean and smiled as he watched him drift off to sleep.

When Léan woke up a few hours later, his first instinct was to stay perfectly still and look around, listening intently for any signs of a boat in the area. When he saw and heard nothing, he relaxed, eyes closing again. He didn't notice Monty and his brother, yet.

Archie was still sound asleep, arms stretched out slightly.

Emy felt him move slightly and nuzzled against him slightly in her sleep after he'd closed his eyes. She'd loved the dream she'd just started to have. Unlike the uncomfortable one she'd had earlier.

Monty felt Lean wake, but didn't move. He was snuggled up to Archie, though looked almost a small child, holding onto someone he loved while he was sleeping.

Léan knew that Emy was asleep...so, he stayed where he was for a while, eyes closed. He had not seen Archie and Monty cuddling yet...but...once he did...

Sparks. They would fly.

Archie took his time waking up, and stretched out slightly when he did, yawning softly.

Monty nuzzled into Archie's chest slightly when he moved, sort of telling him that he was comfortable and not to move. But other in a sort of affectionate way.

Emy wouldn't wake for at least another couple hours.

When Léan finally lifted himself up, stretching, he had to do a double-take, at the two a little ways in front of him. Immediately, his back and shoulders arched, in a protective, 'big brother' sort of way. He looked murderous.

Archie could feel the sudden tension in the air, and made a small 'eep'-ing sound.

Emy moved slightly, feeling that Lean was no longer there. She slowly stirred, looking around in a blurry-eyed sort of way.

Monty heard Archie's small noise and opened his eyes, thinking something was wrong. Then looked slightly confused. He saw Lean then, instantly looking protective as well, over Archie.

Léan slowly reached over and stroked her hair, trying to will her back to sleep for now. If he was going to blow up, he didn't want her to see it. It seemed like Emy and the stubborn look on his brother's face were the only things holding him back from launching himself forward and tearing Monty apart.

Archie stayed perfectly still, lowering his head slightly. Léan was the one who'd inherited their father's terrible, terrible temper.

Emy liked that he was stroking her hair that way, slowly starting to relax again. But something snapped into her mind, making her gently stop his hand. People only did stuff like that when they wanted you to not notice something. She rubbed her eyes a little and looked around, then noticed the situation. "Lean..." She gently took his hand, lovingly looking up at him.

Monty watched that, then looked back at Archie, raising an eyebrow to Lean.

Léan didn't move a muscle, instead staying where he was. Looking territorial, much bigger than he really was. His tail was straight up in the air. It was an aggressive, dominant sort of stance. He didn't know what he was going to do...he just was pissed beyond all belief.

Archie slowly tugged on Monty's arm. "Maybe we should go, for a little bit..." he suggested, timidly.

Emy frowned, slowly moving level with Lean, looking straight at him. "Lean...calm down....please.."

Monty blinked at Archie, then back at Lean. He didn't see why he should leave, but he shrugged slightly and let Archie take him out of the cave if that's what he wished.

Léan snapped his eyes away from her to glare at the ground, a low, rumbling growl building up in his throat.

Once out of the cave, Archie took Monty's hand and then swam away, far away, to the outskirts of the territory. He didn't stop until the rocks they'd slept at were out of sight, and then he sank to the sandy bottom, sighing. "...I should've anticipated that reaction."

Emy moved slightly, gently laying a hand on his chest. "Please...."

Monty sighed when they stopped. "Looks like the only reason he didn't explode was because Emy was there."

The look Léan gave her as a response was icy, flat. He was infuriated. He was rather overprotective of Archie...and he did not trust Monty to treat him nicely.

"He has our father's temper...and that's a nasty temper..." Archie murmured, embarrassed.

Emy couldn't help but feel a little hurt by the way he looked at her, even though she knew he didn't mean to. She looked at him, pleading with her eyes, because her words apparently weren't working. Though, she was stubborn and spoke anyway. "He won't hurt him, Lean....I know Monty is a...well, he's a jerk sometimes. But....I could tell that he really cares when he looks at your brother." She knew that might make him even more angry, but she kept talking. "I need you to calm down....please. You can beat the shit out of Monty if he hurts him....but not before....ok?"

Monty frowned slightly, thinking. "Well...maybe its good Emy is here than. But, she's going to need to have a little more of a backbone and some fire to deal with him."

Léan still looked like he wanted to strangle the life out of Monty. For the first time, he looked much more like an animal than he did an intelligent, sentient being. A low growl bubbled up in his throat again. "If he hurts him, I'm going to murder the bastard," he retorted, gruffly.

Archie looked just a bit frightened. His father...he was even more frightened of the man than he was of humans...and to see his temper come out in Léan was just terrifying.

Emy was immensely worried....she'd never seen Lean like this before...it scared her to no end. But, she tried to keep it together, especially after what he said. She looked straight into his eyes, no smile or any sign of happiness in her eyes or body. "If you do....it'll be the last time you see me." She wouldn't tolerate murder just because Lean was overprotective and now she realized he had an anger issue. No matter how much it would hurt her....she'd leave.

Monty sighed softly and gently wrapped his arms around Archie. "Do not worry....he won't hurt anyone. I'll make sure of it."

Léan sneered at her, and then scowled even more. "I am not going to allow him to harm my brother." It was possible that this was out of consideration for Emy, since in this state he could turn on anyone...and that was obvious: he turned and shot out of the cave, to be alone on the outskirts of the territory and brood for a while.

"Don't hurt him or anything...he's my brother..." Archie closed his eyes.

Emy closed her eyes and let him go, shaking slightly, as if she was trying not to cry. Was it really that terrible a thing....to go to such ends and hurt her like that? It seemed to her that he didn't care how she felt and would just brush her aside so he could strike revenge against Monty if he hurt his brother.

Monty shook his head slightly. "I wouldn't hurt him...more than he could heal in a small amount of time. But, sometimes, you have to get through to people....in any way you can."

Archie saw Léan leaving from a distance, and then sighed, softly. "...I...maybe I should have warned her about his temper before this happened...I knew it was going to happen. We should go and check on her..."

Monty glanced over to where Lean seemed to swim off to, then over towards the cave. He sighed and nodded slightly. "I don't think she'll want to see me though."

Emy had curled up in a corner of the cave, shaking...still trying not to cry.
