Monty gently held him and kissed his head, trying to calm him a little. "Would you like to eat a little?"

"Uh-huh. I like kelp!" Archie cuddled against him slightly before breaking away and studying the kelp, closely. He picked out a few long strands of it for himself.

Monty smiled and went down into the kelp to gather some.

Archie could sit and eat kelp forever. He'd been bingeing on it just a bit since his mate died...he wasn't aware of its properties, and how it sometimes made him act. He nibbled on one of the leaves, cheerily.

Monty just grinned and took some, ripping them from the rest and tore off a piece with his teeth and began to chew.

Archie must have eaten at least six leaves of kelp, in the span of four minutes. He gathered up a bit more, and then turned towards Monty. He looked cheery, and quite excited. "What next?"

Monty looked at him after awhile and raised an eyebrow. Maybe Archie loved kelp so much that it made him extra happy. "I don't know."

"Well...what are we supposed to be doing next on our scavenger hunt?" Archie loved kelp, yes. He wasn't aware of the real effect it was having on him--he breathed a little heavier, grew more hyper...

Monty smiled and watched him for a second. "I think we should go for the golden coral right?"

"...Oh yeah!" Archie realized, scratching the back of his head. He still had no idea what the kelp was doing to him. Only certain kinds of kelp made merpeople react this way...it was easy to tell them apart by their color and different tastes.

Monty chuckled softly and gently took his hand that he wasn't scratching his head with. "Shall we?"

"Lead the way." Archie was eager to get on with their scavenger hunt. He was practically bouncing up and down with excitement.

Monty smiled and started to swim off, holding Archie's hand firmly but gently in his own.

Archie seemed rather happy about holding Monty's hand. He held onto it just as firmly as he glanced around and unconsciously swam closer to the other merman.

Monty noticed him coming closer, but thought he was still nervous. He gently ran his thumb over the back of Archie's hand, trying to calm him.

Archie sighed softly, finding the touch rather...pleasant, perhaps? Once they reached their destination, he began to look around for items that they'd designated part of their scavenger hunt.
