I think I've convinced a friend of mine to have an event art shop. She's kinda new to Mene so she didn't want to make a regular art shop she wouldn't use ever again, and she doesn't have any samples to put up. I told her that the event would be perfect because it'd only be open for a week, she could figure out a good price point, and build up her sample set all at the same time!

I haven't seen Brother Bear, but I do remember seeing previews for it. I just don't watch a lot of disneys in general. I really wanted to see Lilo and Stitch though. I avoided the cartoon series because I thought it might spoil the awesomeness of the movie for me.

hahaha okay. XD haha I was just asking. I'm pretty chill about movies, though. I just watch and enjoy. It's gotta be REALLY bad for me to care *coughbeowulfcough*

That might be it, too. =/ I didn't get to see it in theaters. My mom went with my sister while I was away for some reason or other (can ya tell this is a common thing for me? haha) so I had to wait until my mom bought it.

That sounds like a really good idea. I'm actually kind of terrified of opening up any sort of art shop, though. Otherwise I would have already. >.> So worried people won't want my stuff, or that I won't be able to keep up with even a few requests...

ohmy. My friends went to see it and said it was REALLY bad. Sooo....I'm gonna see it 'cause I like the show...but I'm gonna wait until it gets into our trashy theater and pay $2. XD

It's terrible. I've seen the whole series, and my gripes about it are the same as for people who haven't seen the series. So it's just a plain awful movie.

Though, it is visually appealing, I'll give it that. The costumes are good, the actors seem to fit the characters (mostly), and the fight scenes and special effects are nice.

But the characters have zero personality or development, the plot is almost nonexistant, the voice-overs to try to explain plot holes are elementary at best, and the dialogue is D-movie quality. Also, Oppa and Momo looked awful IMO. A lot of things were just plain missing as well, like the relationship between Sokka and Yue (was that her name? It was the princess who was the moon spirit but not really).

And my fiance was peeved that they pronounced Aang and Sokka different from in the series. That didn't bother me nearly as much as everything else though.

@Keyori- Yay, art shop ^^
I love art shops durning events. I am saving right now for pretty art.
I hope she does have one.
Lilo and Stitch is a great movie. I love Disney. Really I just like all cartoon movies.

@Starr- Yeah, I've noticed that if a movie is 90% in the animal world then it doesn't do as good.

I thought about going to see Avatar but I have heard the really bad reviews so I don't think I will till it comes out on DVD.
Plus I have been reading all the little comics on deviantart about how horrible it is.

----------

I heard they kept saying the names different too

I'm really glad I didn't pay for my ticket. A friend bought it for me (against my protests, even). It was so boring to watch because it was so terrible.

And don't get me wrong! I can love terrible movies! I'm a huge fan of Army of Darkness xD

lol I'm gonna pay $2 to see it. My friends were complaining about paying $15, and I was like "....you couldn't wait with me? We ALL knew it was gonna be horrible..." And they entirely regret it. XD

I really do hope that at least the costumes and effects are good. I like pretty lights...>.> I heard Sokka's hair was all weird, though. That might irritate me...

Bad movies are ok.. but if it is from a series you love and it is completely corrupted that is totally different

and I heard they took away Sokka's humor and his meat Y_Y
how could they do that to poor Sokka? I mean what his he without meat?

Sokka had zero personality. He was concerned about Katara but he didn't crack a single joke.

And I didn't think his hair was weird. His face could have been a little longer, but it was alright.

Want me to find a picture? Or do you not want me to spoil it? xD

0.0 whatt? And his humor!? ugh. I never liked how the movie looked so serious from the trailers. I liked how they always had comic relief (i.e. Sokka..XD)

I'd love a picture. That's not considered spoiler to me at all. Of course....I've heard there's no plot, so I doubt there's much to spoil. I've already seen the series anyway.

Most of the pics I found were straight-on, so sorry for the quality of this one. I tried to get one where you could see a bit from the side.

Admittedly, it does look weird, but I think Sokka's hair looks weird anyway. If it were real, this is about how I would expect it to look.

I know. The comic relief was one of the best parts of the show.

I've spoiled the show for myself already so no worries there.

----------

I expected less hair.
In the show it looks like the side of his hair is buzzed off.
But it doesn't look horrible.

If anything, Zuko's hair bothered me.

Here's an actual film still of Sokka and Zuko. They really didn't do justice to Zuko's scar, and his hair isn't right either. He doesn't grow it back until book 3 ]:

I think some people may have griped that Sokka and Katara's winter clothes aren't blue, but their "summer" clothes are, so I don't think it's unreasonable for them to have not dyed their animal skins

wow.....I don't like how Zuko looks at all, honestly. >.< Of course, I may just be picky. And you're right. His hair shouldn't be grown back..and his scar is hardly there. Those were defining Zuko characteristics....T_T

His disguise when he broke into the fort to rescue Aang was pretty spot-on though.

The one thing I was impressed with is how close the voices got to the original actors. I think Uncle's was the only one that was very far off. And commander Zhao's, but I don't really care about him.

Also, the king didn't wear the fire lord crown hairpin thing, which I was looking forward to. His hair was short even! Ugh!

Princess Yue looked REALLY good though. I'll try to find a movie still of her.

oo that's good, then. =] haha I'm gonna end up in there counting redeeming factors. Especially after all the bad reviews. Honestly...why would they make such a bad movie? Did they just not care since people were going to be critical anyway? ...=/

This was the only one I could find, and it really doesn't do her justice ]:

I did like Aang's tattoos in the movie though. I imagine that would be closer to what would they would actually be than the series', which they probably left so plain so that they'd be easier to draw.

Man, that is horrible. You can barely see the scar, the hair completely fails, and he is not nearly grumpy enough.

his hair is short? How could they have missed that. The fire lord has longer hair then me.

Ah...she doesn't look too horrible, so that's good.

And ya. I noticed the tattoos early on and was pretty impressed with them. They'd be a terror to animate, though. Soo...ya. I can see why they weren't something like that...

I think it's 'cause he just doesn't look like the playful kid Aang was? At least, that's what I always thought...

I agree he doesn't look very happy. Or really any emotion. Any time I've seen him he just has a blank face.

ugh..I hate blank faces. Just...in general. My poor brother...he never shows much emotion and I'm always nagging him about it..XD
