Anya stared at the blue-haired man. The owner of that magical scent. Was it her imagination, or was there something reptilian about him? Whatever he was, he was… mesmerizing. She shook her head, and tried to ignore Silver and Blood. It wasn't hard, not with the blue-haired man right there. "We don't know anything. We were just nearby when something blew…"

Gabriel sighed and nodded at the rather graceful woman. He couldn't help but notice that she was staring at him. He was curious but would ask later. there were other things to be dealt with. "I see. Do you all agree that this does not seem like a munda...." he trailed off, as a boy ran up next to the young girl. If Gabriel had any troubles telling arcane species apart upon sight or smell, he did not have that trouble telling that this boy was mundane. He looked around nervously, wondering if the boy knew about the arcane world.

Zaria hissed slighlty at Gabriel, though it seemed more playful than angry before returning to looking around her. She returned the faerie's withering look beofre looking off in a random direction bored. Though she kept an eye on the snake woman.
Tait gulped again and turned to look at the younger girl, not willing to admit that he was entirely out of his area. "I'm here to help." he said, soflty, "besides I'm not sure this is the most appropriate place to discuss this, and if it makes you feel better I'm not entirely sure how I ended up in your nightmare."

Heather stared at Tait for a couple more seconds before giving up. In a rather deflated voice she sighed, "Sure, whatever..." and turned to look at Samuel. "Sam," she said rather uncertainly, "Now's not the best time." looking around, everyone except the vampire seemed to have become defensive when Sam had interrupted the Arcane conversation.

Without quite knowing why, Anya displayed a bit of fang for Zaria's benefit before turning back to the others. Anya had not been impressed by the vampire's. They were just… crude by her standards. She had no idea -- well, a little idea -- what was going on between the dreamwalker and the girl, and decided she didn't want to know.
The mundane boy and the man that so intrigued her seemed to be her best bets for conversation. "Listen, there can't be much time. I can search, but can any of you deal with rescue and cover?"

Gabriel decided to ignore the mundane boy and just speak freely. "I can be of some help in rescue, but how can we get in and help with all the officers around, keeping the crowds back? we're just regular street people to them. See, I was thinking of trying to get in there and figure out what started this all. there's been a lot of unrest in the arcane world lately and I'd hate for this to be connected."
he turned and just smiled at Zaria. "if we bore you, then figure out how to get past the cops and help."

Tait grinned, "Well see there I can be of some assistance, though the vampire might be able to help to. I'm a dreamwalker and we can put peoples into a trance. Now with this I can either replace a memory of a group of people or just make people kinda like they are sleepwalking. The only problem is I can't handle a group of people this large. Plus those cameras are a bit of an issue."
Zaria hissed full out at the dreamwalker, "First, I'm not full vampire. Second I have a name, it's Zaria. Use it." She looked arond at the crowd and pondered for a second. "Well I can distract the men," she said smirking, "Vampires have a natural, ahem, distraction and attraction technique but it works best on the opposite sex." She looked at the group, kinda curious what there reaction would be though she paid particular attention to Gabriel.

Heather quickly led Sam away. "Sam, you know about the Arcane, or 'magic', world I told you about in grade four, and you didn't believe me? Well, as you know I am a fairy and those people over there"-she gestured towards the others-"Are Arcane too. I suspect the pretty one is a vampire, the man I was talking to is a dreamwalker and I'm not sure about the others. This is secret, okay. I'm going to be as quick as I can, there is a war brewing in the Arcane world, the forces of Chaos and Order are becoming restless. A couple of days ago the leader of Order was murdered and we suspect the explosion is related to the gathering battle." Heather paused to catch her breath and looked at Sam, he didn't say anything, he just nodded. Sighing, she took him back to the group and said "He knows enough." and would say no more.

Gabriel raised one elegant eyebrow at Zaria. He wasn't surprised, but he was a bit bothered by it though he wasn't sure why. "that would be useful then," he said to her. "You and um...." He looked at the dreamwalker, wondering what he name was. "you two can distract the crowds while the rest of us see if we can rescue anyone and figure out who started the explosion.
Gabriel eyed the mundane boy. he seemed a trustworthy enough kid and obviously his friend trusted him. "Are you willing to help us or at least stay silent?" was all he asked the boy.

Anya wondered what sort of magics the girl had, if any. She decided not to divulge her own nature in the presence of the mundane boy, just in case. This would be a delicate operation on so many levels… "Would you be able to deal with the electronics?" she asked the girl and her friend. "Between Tait and the… Zaria…" She fought to hide her distaste. "They should have distraction covered..."

Samuel nodded in response to the blue-haired man's question, "I'm Samuel by the way." he said, trying to keep his cool. He'd always known that Heather's story was true deep down, even if he hadn't acknowledged it consciously. To see the characters of fiction and fairy tales standing before him was rather dizzying but enchanting at the same time.
Heather was rather relieved that Sam finally believed her. Turning to face the other Arcane woman she thought for a second, "Um, I'm not particularly good with electrical equipment but Sam's dad works at a hardware store so he might know a thing or two... I'm Heather by the way." she answered, and stuck out her hand in greeting.
(I'm going to give Sam Dark Orange, if that's okay)

Tait looked at Zaria and nodded, "Fine then, you and I will do distractions." he said, trying to be polite as possible but not really liking this woman's attitude. She seemed cocky and rude to him. He much preferred the naga's company or even the faerie's though part of him worried about that.
Zaria smiled at Gabriel, a genuine smile not one of her smirks and then turned smirking to Tait, "Just be careful, I'm not sure if it will work on you or not but it would not pay for you to get distracted either." She sent a soft, barely audible hiss at the serpent woman.

Gabriel smiled at Samuel. "nice to meet you. I'm Gabriel." He looked at the others, to include them all in the name sharing. "It seems that we have this all pretty much planned out now so all we need to do is take action."
He could tell how out of place Zaria was right now. the others here were obviously not chaos like her. he hoped she didn't cause any problems. he was starting to like the vampire. "It might be easier to work with others if you don't hiss at them," he told her softly.

Anya bent to shake Heather's hand. "I'm Anya. Nice to meet you. Maybe you could assist Sam anyway. There are many cameras, and this is arcane business." That, and her own identity was at stake, and her life with it.
She then turned back to Gabriel, only pausing to return Anya's hiss. Her own was just as soft, accompanied by fang, and it came from a place the naga usually did her best to ignore. Some instincts were best left buried. Shaking her head, she asked, "Think this will work?"

Zaria made a face at Gabriel before turning to snip at him, getting close enough to invade his personal bubble but far enough away for it to be a very playful move. She whispered, "I'm fine with them, just not her." she whispered so Anya wouldn't be able to hear her.
Tait chuckled and rubbed the back of his head, embarassedly, "I'm Tait, by the way," he added, blushing slightly. "But I think we might want to get started now that all the introductions are done.

Sam smiled at Gabriel, "That's an awesome name!" He said, "I'm not really brushed up on Arcane social acceptability, but"-he gave a slightly nervous laugh-"would you mind me asking what kind of Arcane you are?"
"Nice to meet you too, Anya" Heather smiled, Anya seemed nice. "Stealth isn't exactly my specialty-I'm a fairy, by the way-but I'll see what I can do." she laughed. Looking over at Gabriel and Sam she grinned. "They seem to be getting along rather nicely."

Gabriel shrugged at Anya. "I can't say if it will work or not, but it seems to me that it has to be done. as you said, this is arcane business and we need to deal with it. Are we ready to get started then?" he asked as he looked at everyone, making sure that all the others were as ready as he was to stop talking and take some action.
Gabriel leaned away from Zaria just a tad and narrowed his eyes. "whatever your problem with her, get over it at least for a little while. you guys can deal with your problem on your own time."
"Not at all," gabriel said to samuel. he liked this kid. "I'm a were dragon. yes, we do exist."

A fairy. She liked that. And the fact that Heather was a good distraction from Gabriel and Zaria. "Anything you can do would be great. And yes… they are."
"Yes, I'm ready." Not that she was, but the faster they finished this, the better. Working with Gabriel would be awkward at best. What was wrong with her? She would marry a nice, decent naga man. They would have a child, to be raised in both human and serpent traditions. They would have a white picket fence and maybe an iguana they could take on walks. She would have a normal family. Wasn't that the dream?

Sam's eyes widened, "A were DRAGON!? That's so awesome!" he cried, dragons had been his favourite mythical creatures since kindergarten, up until he'd grown too old for make-believe almost all of his fantasy adventures had included dragons.
"Here we go..." Heather sighed once she'd heard the blue-haired man was a were dragon. Sam could go on for hours if the opportunity arose. Still watching Sam, she replied to Anya. "I'll see what I can do."

"Tait, Zaria, Sam and Heather, can you guys get started on distractions now?" The rest of them couldn't do anything until the crowd and cameras were taken care of.

Zaria looked at Gabriel for a second wanting to get this done with so they could get away from Anya as soon as possible, for whatever reason Zaria felt real possessive about Gabriel, he was hers even if she didn't have a right to think that. She sauntered away. as she was moving she deliberately turned on the charm, which for a vampire meant emitting pheremones that distracted pretty much any male around her, she was pleased to see her efforts wer succesful as a group of men began following her. "Hello boys," she smirked.
Tait walked away from the vampire and begin muttering a charm under his breath, it was a charm that every dream walker learned early in there life. It was important if you ever wanted to seduce a victim. Tait had never really had a use for this particular charm before actually, in fact it left a bad taste in his mouth because he believe in leaving mundanes in full faculty, but here it seemed necessary. He looked around, glad to see his skills hadn't lessened with disuse. He soon had the entire crowd, well what left of them after Zaria's distraction, pretty much under his control and he kept murming the charm, ensuring they would stay that way. No it was up to the others to do their parts.

"That... That would be amazing!" Sam called out excitedly as Heather grabbed the back of his shirt and yanked him away from Gabriel.
"Hurry up!" she hissed, slowly circling a media van. "So... What now?"
Sam ghosted up behind her, "Hetty, It's not that hard. Step one: Get in the van." He hissed back rather sarcastically.
Heather rolled her eyes at him but followed his advice, it probably would be a good idea getting into the van first. The back of the van was already open and the occupants were too distracted by Zaria and Tait to notice two teenagers sneaking in. Heather stared blankly at the wall of cables in front of her. "What th-" she started to hiss, but
Sam was already searching out the section of the wall marked 'cameras'. After about 30 seconds he found what he was looking for. "Hetty, can you pull out the cables over here?" He gestured towards a rather small panel.
Hetty proceeded to do what she was told and eventually all of the camera's linked to that van were switched off. "Next van..." she whispered as she hopped out, proceeding to move to the next van along.

Anya was deeply impressed. Even the best cobra hypnotists could only handle a few people at a time. Raw power was definitely at work. She only hoped it would wear off by the time the EMTs were needed. Of course, all of this would look plenty odd on camera, but she trusted the young members of the team to take care of that and crossed the barrier to the rubble. Given her frame, there would be plenty of room to enter it and, well, maneuver safely.
She sighed, and pulled off her shoes and socks, black peachskin jacket and, with another sigh, her dusky yellow blouse. Embarrassing, but clothes didn't come cheap. She could slip out of the skirt easily enough, at least, and her bra was concealing enough.
Soon, she was slipping through the most promising opening, the black tip of her long tail quickly disappearing into the darkness.
She would have to do this primarily by scent and by feel. Sound would betray her. Her tongue flicked at a rapid rate. It felt amazing here in this labyrinth of manmade stone, like some dusty home, and it was easier to ignore thoughts of the dragon. Dragon. No wonder she had been so… distracted.
No. She shook her head, and continued to weave her way through the stone, searching. Focus on the mission. She could smell the girl, and she was getting closer. Once located, she could determine the safest way to conduct the rescue, and direct… well, the dragon. Anya sighed. And heard a little shriek. Not that the girl could see very well down here, but she could probably hear, and, well… Anya was for all intents and purposes a giant snake monster crawling through what she decided was probably the building's basement. The girl was close. Yes, this would be fun.
A human voice might be a comfort, she decided. "Please stay calm," she called softly, in the direction she decided the girl must be. "I'm here to help. Once I locate you, a friend will be able to get you out, okay?"
She heard a choke, the suppression of tears, and wondered how badly the girl was hurt. Weaving out of a dead end and through one more jagged path, she nearly ran into the girl, her hand finding a foot. Was her leg caught? The girl screamed. Anya backed away. "Okay, okay. I'll go get help now. It won't be much longer."

Gabriel blinked at wonder at the crowds that were congregating around the two hypnotic people. such truly amazing gifts. He was glad they were on the same side....at least for now. He looked and saw Heather and Sam jump into a van and upon close inspection, he could see the lights go off on the cameras. the camera men seemed far to distracted to notice that they weren't actually on anymore. Good, now they could rescue the others, though Anya had already run off and disappeared into the rubble with a flick of her....snake tail? that was interesting.
he walked quickly after her, waiting till the snake woman returned to tell him how best to help. He was pretty sure he heard a very muffled shriek from under ground. he could only frown an wait though unless he wanted to risk caving in the area the girl was in.

Anya gradually climbed back to the surface, gently testing rocks for stability as she went. All five yards of her kept track of her progress, her scales being very tactile, and eventually she emerged not far from where she'd entered, exposing only her human torso, now specked with gray dust and soot. If she got through this, she'd definitely need a shower before going to work.
"Follow me. I'll show you which rocks to move," she said, staring at Gabriel. Flicking her tongue. Not that she meant to, but yum. This was better than lingering outside of a gourmet steakhouse. "She's… um, she's in the basement. Scared, so let's take it slow. That one first." She pointed one short claw at the concrete fragment to her right.
