Listening to their silence for a few moments, she chuckled lightly and looked around, her eyes focusing on a person in a forest green cloak huddling by the bar. Curious, and a little suspicious, she watched their figure for a few seconds before turning back to Theo, mulling over why they seemed so familiar. "So, mister Theo, are you planning on staying in this town for a while," she asked, trying to get her mind off of the figure and attempting to get rid of the talk of war. She dealt enough with it during the day that she really shouldn't have brought it up, or keep talking about it.

Theo watched her, then saw her eyes look across at the bar and noticed the figure in the green cloak as well. He looked over at it for a moment, thinking about it. Then looked back at her and smiled a little. "Probably not actually. I was passing through. The storm forced me to stop, so here I am."

"Oh, to bad," she remarked lightly with a grin, resiting an arm on the table. It was then that she thought about what a picture this moment would make. A neko and a sea elf, both dressed in deep hooded cloaks, chatting over one empty mug of ale, while sitting in a dark corner in perhaps one of the dingiest taverns she had ever come across. Unable to help herself, she chuckled lightly, enjoying the surprised faces that she conjured of her family

Theo tilted his head slightly when she chuckled. He was not sure what to think she was laughing at. Was he amusing in some way?

Seeing his confusion, Viv thought on whether or not she should elaborate. Deciding there was no harm in it, she smiled. "I was merely thinking about the picture we make. Two dark cloaked figures huddled in the corner of a...dank tavern like conspirators," she said in a joking tone. "Maybe thats why we haven't been asked to....er...celebrate."

Theo looked at her, then chuckled. "That's sort of amusing. I don't see why they would ask us to. Though, I'm sure if we didn't have cloaks on, we'd be the center of attention."

"Oh, most certainly," she agreed, grinning largely. At a loud crashing sound, however, her ear twitched in the direction even as she glance out of the corner of her eye, watching as a ground of armed men sat down at an 'vacant' table, her guard automatically up.

Theo chuckled softly until the crash got his attention. He looked over without moving his head and studied the situation, determining whether or not he should be on his gaurd or not. He glanced at girl with him and grinned slightly.

Looking back at Theo, she was slightly startled to see him grinning at her. Blinking for a few seconds, she grinned back before turning her attention to the group of me, curious if they were simple men or soldiers. She couldn't find any army symbol on them, but one can never tell without examining. "So, mister Theo. Where do you plan to go after this?"

Theo looked thoughtful for a moment. "Actually. I hadn't planned on anywhere in particular. Just going south." He chuckled softly, as to not draw attention. He hadn't decided whether the men would be a threat or not.

Still examining the men, she chuckled lightly. "South is good. Most of the land there is relatively interesting," she replied, though her eyes narrowed when she thought she saw a flash of green and silver. An emblem? So they are soldiers, then, she thought, her ears automatically flattening against her skull.

Theo grinned. "You know the southern lands? Never been there myself. So....wanderer is truely what I'll be this time." He chuckled softly again. He'd caught the emblem and frowned slightly. He wasn't too fond of soldiers....especially those ones. "Would you like to leave?"

"A while ago. Though it wasn't the best of circumstances so I wasn't there as long as I would have liked," she replied after a moment, grinning wryly despite herself. Hearing his comment, she blinked lightly in surprise before looking over at him. Seeing his wary gaze to the soldiers, she understood why he asked, though a part of her didn't wish to go into the whether. After a second, she nodded. "Yes. I am a little tired of this crowd," she commented lightly, half lie and half truth mixing into the statement.

Theo smiled at her and slowly stood. Then came over to her side of the table, offering his arm. "There is an inn down the road. I'm sure I could get us both a room."

"Oh?" Vivi smiled then, standing before taking his arm. Inwardly, she was surprised that he had offered. They were still practically strangers, after all. After a second, her smile grew into a grin. Interesting... "Sounds wonderful. I'm grateful," she replied, still grinning even as she started to walk forward, though her eyes remained fixated on the soldiers, noticing that a couple were downing some of the foul liquid the tavern sold. Something that made her senses kick up a notch. The last thing she needed to be around were drunkenly idiotic soldiers.

Theo smiled when she took his arm, then nodded slightly. "It's not a problem." He kept an eye on the soldiers as they went passed them. "Do not worry...I won't let anything happen." He said reassuringly. He wouldn't either...he was sort of protective of people. Even after they'd just met.

Blinking slightly, Vivi almost turned to gape at him when he said that. She wasn't used to having people protect her having long since been separated with those she would have trusted to do so. And she was slightly angry at herself for being able to trust and fall into the comfort that those words provided so easily. Yet...she couldn't make herself be disbelieving when it came to Theo. For some reason, she trusted him.
"...Thank you..." she said after a moment, unable to mask the confusion in her eyes when she heard her own, if fractional, relief in her voice.

Theo smiled at her kindly. "It's ok." He took her past the guards and outside. The thunder made him nervous, moving his hood a little further forward to cover his face completely. His hand gently rested on hers as it was on his arm. "I've got to warn you. You might not want to touch me while we are outside. I might shock you."

Blinking as they stepped outside, Vivi tensed as the thunder boomed, though she was able to stop herself from shying away. "Oh, I'll remember that," she said after a moment, her voice calm though she shook slightly. What could she say, she didn't like storms. She used to hide under her bed when one passed over, and her mom would eventually come and find her. She had given her a small pendant that Vivi carried to this day.
Bringing her hand to her pouch, her eyes widened slightly even as she tensed. Grasping at the spot where it would have been, she turned back to the tavern. "I dropped my pouch. I have to go back," she explained, panicking slightly as she headed back inside, scavenging the ground as she looked for it.

Theo nodded slightly, then suddenly wanted to comfort her as she tensed. He could tell she was scared. He blinked when she went for her pouch. Then sighed slightly when she said she'd lost it. He followed her back in, a little relieved he wasn't in the storm.

Vivi hurriedly made her way back to the table they had previously been sitting at. She peered under the table and saw it sitting there serenely on the dirt encrusted tavern floor. "Oh, good," she sighed in relief as she reached under to grab it. As she made her way back to the tavern door where Theo waited she felt her hood slip and fall, revealing her...unusual features. The guards didn't notice at first, but one happened to glance over at the most inopportune moment.

"Hey! Shes a Neko!" Yells and shouts grew as Vivi made a sprint for the door. She readied the knife she had lashed to her wrist, ready to use it if need be.

Theo saw her hood fall back sort of in slow motion, as the gaurd saw her and yelled...and the shouts rose. He cursed softly and started to her, grabbed her arm gently and pulled her from the bar swiftly. "We have to go."

Gasping lightly as she felt someone grab her arm, she turned her head swiftly to stare at the person, though she nearly sighed in relief when she recognized his figure. "Theo," she gasped, an apology almost forming on her tongue though she stopped herself. Tripping slightly as he began to pull her, Vivi quickly regained her balance as she followed him out of the tavern, though a quick look back revealed that the soldiers were following.

Theo looked around swiftly, then started to pull her into into the almost deserted street to the left, into an alleyway. Hoping to lose the soliders. He stopped only for a second to cover her head with her hood again.

Following him into the alley, she blinked for a few seconds after he replaced her hood, having forgotten to pull it back up after...well...
Clutching her pouch lightly, Vivi opened her mouth to thank him when the guard's commotion and comments reached her sensitive ears. "What will we do," she asked after a moment, doubting they would be found, yet she wanted to be ready.
