A few hours later Belle paused. "Was there a city here before?" she asked, frowning just a little.

"No...?" Andy replied uncertainly. "Why are you asking me? My sense of direction is crap."

Belle looked over at Eclipse, who shook his head. "Huh. New town. Guess the world expanded again."

"Guess so," Andy agreed. "Should we go take a look?"

"Might as well." Belle shrugged and started walking towards the city. "Might find something interesting."

"Very true," Andy agreed as she walked with Belle.

Belle showed her dex to the guard at the gate before she entered the town, looking around. She could see a few little shops, an inn, and a few houses scattered around. "Quaint."

"It's cute," she said. "Obviously still new, but around here I bet it'll get traffic. Especially around the Ephemera territory, with people getting lost there."

Belle snickered. "Between Ephemera and Black Jewels and the other territories around here, yeah, I can understand that." She shook her head, starting for the inn.

"Hey, I wonder how many times we'll get lost and end up here and go back?" She couldn't help but grin at the thought.

"If it happens more than twice, I'm flagging down someone to guide us out," Andy replied.

Belle laughed at that, trying to keep her voice down at least somewhat. "Well, hey, we can get a room for the night or keep going on. Either way."

"This is true," Andy agreed. "Come on, let's look around and see what's here."

Belle nodded and started looking around. There really wasn't much, besides the inn, a small supply and food shop, and a few houses. And, oddly enough, a small doctor's office. That was surprising.

Andy saw the small office, too.

"Interesting," she commented.

"Very." Belle was silent for a moment.

"Go in," Eclipse said quietly, in that tone of voice that brooked no argument.

Belle turned on him with a raised eyebrow. "Why?"

"Perhaps this doctor can think of some way to reverse what has been done to you."

Belle scowled but had to admit it was a good idea. In theory.

Andy had to admit that was a very good point. She wasn't given a chance to second-think it, either, because Sesshoumaru started steering her in that direction.

"Okay, I get it already," she said.

Belle rolled her eyes but followed Andy and Sesshomaru before Eclipse could start getting pushy. She opened the door to the little doctor's office and peeked inside, looking around quickly.

"Hello?"

"Back here!" came the faint answer.

Belle opened the door all the way and stepped inside, Eclipse following close behind her.

Andy went in with Belle, Sesshoumaru just behind her. She wasn't sure what they would find, but she hoped that they would be able to get a cure.

The doctor appeared a moment later from a back room, looking disheveled. "Sorry. What can I do for you two?"

"Um. We were thinking of getting some blood work done," Belle said hesitantly.

The doctor nodded, already starting to get things. "Anything in particular you want me to look for?"

Belle glanced at Eclipse, who nodded and stepped closer to her. "Well, we were both... exposed to a substance that lowered the three-mile limit."

The doctor abruptly frowned. "So you ran into that psycho too."

"You know who we're talking about?" Andy asked. It seemed like the scientist was really getting around.

"Yeah. I've seen a few people come back from his handiwork already." The doctor looked mad. "Well, fortunately I won't need both of you to give me blood, unless you have different limits?"

"No, we were dosed at the same time, and we have almost the same limit," Belle said. "Take whatever you need from me."

Andy was actually kind of relieved Belle volunteered. She hated having blood drawn, even for bishiballs.

The doctor nodded and escorted her back to a small side room, making her sit down and tying her arm off while he got the syringe and needles. He drew blood from her and told her to sit for a minute while he ran a few tests.

Andy just waited for Belle in the lobby. She really didn't like needles, and didn't even like watching other people getting stuck with them.

Belle walked back after a few minutes. "Well, I'm done for the time being."

"Could you two stay in town until tomorrow morning?" the doctor called from another back room. "I should have something by then."

"Um, sure."
