"As long as it's meat, they'll eat it. One person fed nine of these hatchlings on fingerlings, lor little crabs, and shellfish. Nine of them. With Threadfall outside."

"Belle, sweetie, you're going into the realm of Pernese speak again," Thomas reminded her. "Andy doesn't know what you're talking about."

Belle merely stuck her tongue out at him.

"No, I think I actually understood most of that," Andy replied, thinking a bit. "It mostly made sense. I'm not completely hopeless."

Belle snorted. "You will be even less hopeless when you read the books."

"I have read the books," Andy protested. "That's exactly why I'm not completely hopeless." And she kept getting distracted, which was the entire reason she only read through the first three books once to begin with anyways.

Belle just rolled her eyes and sat down to do some reading herself, keeping the eggs cradled in her lap. She was almost as bad as Lien, only with eggs that weren't hers.

Andy stuck out her tongue at Belle and went back to her own book. She was perfectly content where she was and with what she was reading. Even Temeraire and Lien had settled in for the moment, although neither of them would let anyone but Andy near their egg.

Belle didn't even try to go see their egg. She was still more than content with her two fire lizard eggs, and she even let Thomas keep them for a bit to make sure they were staying warm and the sand packing them in was warm enough. Belle figured she could always ask Lien or Temmy to store her pack with their egg if her eggs ever started to get cold.

"We can hang around here as long as you like," Andy said to Belle. "I don't have anywhere in particular that I want to go."

"Okay. I guess we can hang aroung for a couple days. Give those two some time to hover and fuss." Belle grinned.

"Guess the Blood males won't be the only ones," Thomas teased. Belle just rolled her eyes.

Andy snickered.

"We seem to have the market nearly cornered on fussing males," she said, grinning a bit. "Although we knew what we were getting ourselves into."

"We knew but we didn't understand," Belle said with a shrug. "Oh well. At least it's a source of amusement. Sometimes."

"Sometimes," Andy agreed. "It could be so much worse."

"Oh yes. Like if there were more females and more Blood males or other fussy males." Belle grinned briefly as Lucifer finally decided to come back down from where he'd been keeping an eye out. "He can get fussy sometimes."

"I do not," Lucifer growled indignantly. "I just don't like listening to you complaining and moaning and bitching when you're sick."

"Of course." Belle grinned.

Andy grinned.

"We've yet to find that mythical person with the entire Dark Court," Andy pointed out. "That's got to be a trip."

"Oh yeah," Belle said with a grin. "Especially if all the females end up syncing. That would be one horrible week."

"That would be a nightmare," Andy agreed. "That's the week you just buy out the whole chocolate aisle of the candy shop and then hide."

"Seriously," Belle grumped. "And barricade the doors. Although I don't know how much that would help."

"It wouldn't," Andy replied. She paused. "Well, maybe. Women aren't able to use Craft during the first three days, but after that..."

"After that, beware." Belle grinned. "You know, we can still throw things the entire time. Perhaps we should start using that as a deterrant..."

"I still think dragons are a suitable threat," Andy said. "My aim isn't good enough to properly threaten someone with throwing things."

"Oh I can." Belle grinned broadly. "But dragons are an excellent threat. And in another month or two I'll have fire lizards to threaten them with too."

Andy grinned.

"I think we have sufficient threats between us," she said. "We'll see what happens next month."

"Next month will be very interesting," Belle agreed.

Andy nodded and settled in to read for a little while longer before it got too dark.

Belle made dinner later on, still in a good mood. She did make Lucifer sit down so she could dump the eggs on him for the time being, though.
