Has anyone else been in an earthquake before? What was it like? Was it a major quake, or just baby rumblings?
Really early this morning, there was a minor earthquake in Maryland at a few minutes past 5 AM. It was only a 3.6, but still, it was my first earthquake. I wasn't even sure that it was an actual quake at first! It was kinda cool.

XD I'd have been so scared and ran around screaming for help. But I'm a big scaredy cat. Never been in one myself, scariest natural disaster I've come close to are tornadoes. Those are baby ones, since I'm in Wisconsin we're surrounded by hills and stuff so, it's nothing too big.

I've always wanted to see an earthquake or a tornado. We get pretty much no natural disasters here. D:

England isn't renowned for it's multitude of natural disasters, so i was rather upset when the first earthquake of my lifetime, failed to rouse me from my sleep. I think i sleep through the second one too. I'd love to see a volcano erupt, from a safe distance mind.

I've only felt minor earthquakes. A few years ago when I was in the store with my mom, we were in the deli area, and I thought I felt the ground move, but it might of been machines and whatnot. Later when we got home, we turned on the news and saw that there was a minor one around the time we were at the store -3-
But were I live, the sand would absorb the impact of any real earthquake, so I don't have to worry about that. I have to worry more or less about wild fires and flash floods.

>.> I'm in NoVa, people here are still freaking out over it. XD I slept right through it. Right until my brother had to come down and force me to wake up at about 12:30-1 so we could go to the movies.
My first earthquake was the 6.7 Northridge quake in California, and...it's the only Earthquake I've been through that I'll actually qualify as an Earthquake. Apparently, this area has had a few, but they've always been so small that I never noticed. My mom, who's native to SoCal is sensitive to them and will notice, but they're nothing special.
What I remember of the Earthquake was being literally tossed from my bed. I stayed on the ground, seeing as it was impossible to stand anyway...and I remember looking up at the wall where the window was, and EVERYTHING was rocking and shaking. My big brother was on the top bunk of our bunk beds, and I think we talked for a bit, but I don't remember enough of the incident. ^_^" Seriously freaky stuff...

There was one earthquake which I really felt was three years ago when I was visiting my cousin in California. I was sitting in bed and suddenly there was shaking then it stopped. It was weird. Lawl. But that's the only one so far.

A tornado touched down when I was on the highway once. It's pretty scary.

A small tornado? D: They're just fascinating. Terrifying, mother nature, etc.
Also, are earthquakes not terrifying? =P

Tornadoes are pretty regular here, they are't big, but they're there. As for earthquakes, well NZ is on a faultline so.... We have volcanoes too which is scary, we're due a big eruption in the north island so it's like "RUN AWAY!" The last time the one we're due for erupted the ash covered the sky in China, so yeah...

Earth quakes on the Eastern seaboard of the United States are pretty rare. I hope it isn't a omen of things yet to come....

The last earthquake I slept though, though it wasn't a very big one to begin with. Not to terribly exciting. ^^; I've had more close encounters with tornadoes than earthquakes.

I used to live in L.A and San Bernardino. Aaaand I live right next to the San Andrea's Fault. XD; We visited it once. :3 It was pretty cool and we went inside of it. So, in other words, I've had a bunch of earthquakes happen, both small and some bigger, but all of them were fun in a way. ^ ^' It's amusing to see my mom react though. >.> She freaks out.

Most earthquakes I can't feel them or notice them. We had one like maybe like a week ago it was a 4.5 or a 4.7. My bed started to shake. I didn't realise that it was an earthquake until my mom started pounding on my door and rushing me out of my room.

About two months ago, there was a super-tiny earthquake in Chicagoland. I slept through it, don't know what scale it was...But some people at my work said they hardly noticed it. D=

 My first earthquake the whole school panicked, while me and 2 other students sat under our tables and tried to figure out why everyone was panicking...
Ironically this earthquake left some cracks in my elementary, at my dad's work, and in buildings all over the place.......... and I didn't feel a thing.
