It was my understanding that the Malkavians switched out Dementation for Dominate and the ones that kept Dementation defected to the Sabbat. They changed in order to preserve their clan, as I understood it. Although, it says that Dementation resurfaced in the Camarilla in recent history. I just like the idea of Dominate.

Have you read about the Convention of Thorns? Before the Convention of Thorns all Malkavians had the discipline dementation but after it only those who joined the Sabbat did. Why? Because six Methuselah decided that those Malkavians within the Camarilla were a threat for as long as they maintained their ability to use dementation and thus through ritual blocked it which gave the Camarillian Malkavians the use of the discipline dominate instead. Then in 1997 the antitribu Malkavians banded together to perform a ritual of their own that "infected" the Camarillian Malkavians with dementation and allowed them to use it again.

It's suspected that this happened because the discipline dementation is what links all Malkavians together in the Madness Network which is rumored to be the bodiless existence of their antideluvian.

We're playing in a setting after 1997 but before the Final Nights and so I'm wondering if dementation is simply added to the list of known disciplines for all Camarilla Malkavians or if it replaces dominate.

I think for those of the Camarilla it's an either/or situation. If Dementation would be easier, I can do that I just thought Dominate would be more fun and a little more useful.

Also, the Anarchs are typically under the umbrella of the Camarilla even if they don't like to admit it since they haven't sided with the Sabbat. The Anarchs are more likely to tolerate your child vampire's existence.

I think he's gonna be a man's man; all gruff and a working man with stubble and flannel shirts with work boots. A handy-man. He's a ghoul but he earns extra cash by doing house repairs and whatnot for his Kindred's social circle - keeping their havens and lairs in working condition.
