I'm relaxing, playing lots of Starcraft 2. It really is an addicting game. It's like e-chess.
And yeah, you've been loading yourself lately with all that rush work you had to do for your fellowships. What kind of bed did you get?

Ahh, I love beds! Especially new ones. My favorite is the foam kinds (which is what I currently have), but I am extremely interested in that bamboo kind that is becoming increasingly popular!
AND I LOVE THE NAME CHANGE, SCHOLAR. Very befitting. (Don't forget that you will have to change the title of this thread, now ;))

Oh, right. *goes to change thread title*
Beds... you mean tatami mats? They're traditionally Japanese, and have their own problems of constantly getting too moist.
THE BED TOOK SIX HOURS TO ASSEMBLE. I wore off my cello calluses pushing little wooden slats into the rubber doohickeys to create this. But MAN did I sleep well, once I got to bed at quarter past midnight. And it's a king size! And my mother paid for it in lieu of taking me clothing shopping!

No, not even related to that. Hmm... let me find a pic. Well, I guess it's SIMILAR to this one. I can't seem to find the exact one I want (since I saw it in an actual store here), but this is the general idea.
Hahaha... Oh, Ikea. Did you not have anyone to help you? I always invite my friend over if I'm going to be building something big. King size is amazing... if I wasn't too lazy with making beds, I would also get one.

Oh, well in that case, welcome to our thread AND Menewsha!!! It shouldn't take you long to get used to it... I've only been active here for a month and a bit, myself. I think you will really enjoy it. :)
I am fine. Just got off work, so thankfully I get to relax for the rest of the day!
Thank you! I love your red scarf, it's beautiful.

Yes, there are some extremely kind people in this community. I recently just got a few donations from another member, myself!
Haha, no time is a good time for work. I do prefer to have my evenings off, however.

ah, I design media for a local business, posters, pamphlets, etc. Just a few hours a week, but it's fun and creative PLUS I get to be on the computer, so it's a win-win!

Really? It's a lovely banner! I like it loads!
Yeah, this job is really great - I have another part time job as a cashier, but it's not nearly as enjoyable!
Other than the banner what kind of things do you design? On websites, might I have seen some of it?

Thanks!
Not too much, honestly. I don't work on cool websites, I work on a directory website. So occasionally I'll be asked to make or edit little banners for events or contests and things like that.

That still sounds fun though! I will only have this job until the end of summer - then it is back to school, huh?
making "little banners" and things is still fun, I like the banner for this thread very much. I mean - I just finished working for many hours on an all purple pledge form. ...
I think yours is cooler.

Not for me. Haven't been to school since I graduated high school. Hopefully I will get around to it next year, though... I really do want to go back and study. But I want to be able to work along the side too, so that's why I'm gaining experience now so that when I do want to go off to school, it will be easier for me to find a job.
Making graphics for business purposes tends to be much different than out of pure interest. Because then you have specific limitations and such to abide by. I also do a lot of CG artwork, so experience from that helps too.

Wah! I love studying so much - I know that I will be in school for many more years. By next year do you mean this fall, or the following year?
It's probably good to get work experience, I know that references from my past jobs and internships have made it much easier for me to get jobs.
Yeah, making graphics for work has limitations, but I still enjoy how nice it looks when it's complete - pride in your work you know? It's still not as fun as back when I was making stuff for fandoms and stuff, etc. When you can do whatever you want it is always more fun.

Next next year. Like, I'm thinking March... and if that doesn't work out, then next September.
Aha, you're a step ahead of me then. I still do graphics and many other things for fandom and mere pleasure... I have lots of spare time at the moment so I can afford to, but I don't know how well that will keep up next year.

That's great! I am wishing you the best with your future studies. My best friend took a gap year and everyone was always doubting that she would go back to school, and now she is already at the school of her dreams and she is really excelling!
Haha, I'd love to still be doing things for the fandoms I love! I just am not properly equipped, I lost lots of editing software and reference stuff when my old computer shit the bed, and all of the stuff I have now is really only suited toward buisness graphics. Whenever I think about working on things for pleasure my mind makes me feel guilty and I think "You should be practicing you Japanese right now!" or "Don't you need to review your German!" or "Go finish reading your Plato!"
my own mind forces me to do work... ah - but I don't think I'm ahead of you doing stuff for fandoms you love is pure pleasure<3

(Ooh, love the new outfit!)
That's very inspiring. There are moments where I do feel like 'Hey, I'm content just living this inactive, average life... I don't really need to put all my effort into going off and studying something that will probably get me nowhere anyway' ... but then I see things and hear all these little stories, and my motivation is restored. See, in order for me to go to the school I want, I have to move across to the other side of the continent... which can be pretty scary when doing it alone.
Oh, gosh, there are SO many more productive things I could do with all the time I have... it's incredible. But I'm just so lazy and I need my 'me' time to just sit around and do the things I enjoy... which are mostly useless. I mean, some of the stuff I do contributes toward practical experience, but nothing compared to if I actually put all my time and effort into something 100% beneficial.
(Haha, that's cute!)

haha - I'm glad that you like it, since I'm new I'm trying out different sorts of looks, which reminds me I meant to tell you that I LOVE your new look (the little fox stuffies are the cutest!)
Yeah, I find her story really inspiring too - Everyone said "if you take time off you'll never go back" and she just nodded to them politely and now she's at school and after only a few months she is a manager over other students, an RA and is top of her class. Even though it may be hard to motivate yourself to do such a thing as move across the continent (that is a LOT of effort! - does that mean you'd be moving to a different country too?) If you think it's what you really want, I'm rooting for you! :3
Oh! I think taking time to indulge oneself is very important. For example, I read manga today instead of reviewing my kanji! Clearly I indulge myself too - I actually envy you for being able to do it without feeling so guilty! <3

Oh, thanks! I've been questing this item for the longest while; finally found a seller and bought it yesterday!
Eh, yeah, people have said that to me too. I also failed high school (had to make up extra courses in order to finally graduate) and now I'm on my second gap year, but I honestly want to prove to everyone that I will actually go back to school and fulfill my dreams. I can be pretty strong, so I have faith that I'll be able to do it. Just need to settle a few things first before I do. And, no, I don't think I'd move country just yet... that's a step a bit too far ahead for now. Immigration is a bitch.
I do feel guilty, though!!! I just try to ignore it because I know that I'm at least doing some productive work throughout my days, and because I know I probably won't have much opportunity for free time once I move next year.
