If I may ask - where is it you have to be moving too? 'cause if I had to move to the other side of the continent I'd be in a.)Alaska, b.) somewhere in the arctic unpopulated part of Canada or c.) in Texas - it's a pretty drastic move!

Well I live in Ontario right now, and the school I want to go to is in Vancouver.

bababa, that is far - I can see how that would be a difficult thing to gear up too. I was worried when I was only moving from Maine to Vermont!

Well, I've moved country once and have moved houses a lot since, so moving isn't usually that big of a deal for me... the only issue is that all the moving I'd done had been with my parents, so I didn't have to deal with anything personally. But now I'm on my own, so I'll have to figure out a way to move by myself. Unless one of my parents is willing to come up and help me during that time, but I don't know how likely that is to happen.

Ah, that's certainly an additional dimension to consider. What you want to study must be fairly specialized if you can only study it so far away.
This just makes me want to root for you more and more GO FOXY!

I just want the best and most valuable education possible in the most suitable environment for me, rather than waste my time with a school that won't teach me anything.
Aww, that's so sweet, thank you!
(Anyway, I'm off to bed now, and shall return tomorrow. Have a great night! :) )

That makes sense, and I think that that attitude toward education is really admirable.
You're welcome!
Well it was nice to talk to you today, hope we can talk again latter! <3 night!

Yes, though a good deal of yesterday was taken up by driving first to Bed Bath and Beyond to buy sheets for the new king-size bed (gah, they use too many scents in there), and then waiting at IKEA to get four little screws that were missing from the bed slats. The returns/exchanges guy was so confused about what we wanted.
And when I got home after that, I had to finish grading final exams from the summer session which just finished, and then I was emailing a woman who has, I think, agreed to be my host country affiliate for this grant I'm applying for! Yay!
And stuff.
So, I collapsed into bed last night with nary a chance to log on. I'm hoping *crosses fingers* to be able to intersperse work and play tonight.

Also, I hate moving, so I sympathize with anyone who has to... Until we settled in Los Angeles, my husband and I moved (or re-shuffled from storage to another storage at least 80% of our belongings) a total of something like 12 times over six years.

Yes, but I'm glad it's mostly intensity I've chosen for myself. Except for husband and his attendant problems, and thus father-in-law and mother-in-law with their attendant problems. But school, grants, study—that's all my own fault.

YUM.
Though, I read an article in the Japan Times that bluefin tuna, the kind used in sushi, are dramatically endangered due to unsound fishing practices. :( I love sushi, but I'd like it to be around for a while.

So, I haven't been able to make that trick work after my initial success. Do you have to not let *any* through before the end?

Is that so?! Well, damn... other than seafood, I'm a vegetarian, so I guess I'll just have to take it up one level and make sure not to order anything with bluefin tuna in it. I remember atlantic cod was becoming a little endangered a while back... don't know the status on that, though. But I try not to order anything with that in it either.
