That's why you don't go to the real world for this long, ;D
Yeah, I've spent too long in the real world lately. But the application is mostly finished. I just have to finalize a few things, bring in a couple more references to "The Literature" in my field, and fill in the boxes with various accomplishments. A few hours' work is all that's probably left, and then I'm free to go back to normal work. Dissertation proposal, all that fun stuff.
BTW, whooping cough has been going around Los Angeles lately, so make sure you're up to date on your booster shots!! One of my dissertation advisors caught it a month ago, and apparently she has two more months of recovery coming up, coughing nonstop for 15 minutes at a time, on and off all day. :(
Well, it's a miserable disease, and though most of us get vaccinated when we're young, you're supposed to get a booster every ten years, only no one ever does.
Anyone get those new Gardasil shots that are becoming increasingly popular? My doctor offered it to me but it's way too expensive. Maybe down the road.
Yeah, I actually got those shots quite a while ago -mostly for my mother's peace of mind. But yeah, I think it's a good thing to do when you can afford it. I know it's tough for a lot of people to get that one because it's not covered by insurance.
I agree, it is definitely beneficial to have. But I just don't have the money at the moment.
OT: SCHOLAR!!! CONGRATS ON BEING THE NEW AOTFG CHAMP!!! That is SO exciting! Now I see your name every time I go to play games... kekeke.
LOL, thanks... it's not a matter of strategy, just of exploiting a really silly glitch that occurs when you finish level 22. And someone's now beaten mine. I hope they fix it!

Gardasil... *googles* Oh, that one. No one's offered it to me, but I'm married, so am probably low-risk for HPV. At least, I hope I am.
I'm mostly finished. I have to scan in my transcript, edit one sentence in the personal statement, and upload my letters of affiliation, which are in my email. All of this I have to do at home, and I'm stuck at school for an hour or so.
Things are okay. The weather's getting me down. Super-hot. But, I did just see the podiatrist, and he basically gave me a clean bill of health, or as clean as my ankle will every give me, considering the completely torn ligament.
You and my dad both have those evil torn ligaments in the ankles, D: Downside is that he can't run or anything like that anymore, as it might rerip, ;-;.
And it has been really hot here as well. Winter needs to come already!
I bet. Did you have to get one of your other ligaments tied around the others to fix it? That's what they had to do with him. It's a pretty weird setup.
No, I've been working with physiotherapy to avoid surgery. I can walk, and run short distances, but it just feels unstable, and I would often get level 8-9 aches on the side of my foot where things connect to the footbones. Plus, tons of swelling. I had two steroid (or something?) shots, to reduce inflammation, and it was pretty dramatic, how much smaller my ankle became.
