"That's a very good reason. Mine's pathetic- I couldn't sleep!" Artemis said, laughing a little. "I don't even know why I stay here. Thunderstorms bug me, and they happen pretty often. They're much worse in the summer, though." Artemis shuddered. Thunderstorms freaked her out because it reminded her of gunfire. Gunfire reminded her of her father's hunting gun, which reminded her of her father..... and that brought back unpleasant memories.

"Was it because of the thunderstorm last night? Zuko asked.

((Sorry about not replying for a few days, I thought the entire time I'd replied when I didn't.))

Artemis nodded. "Yeah," she said softly, looking down at the ground. Artemis lived alone, so when thunderstorms came, there was no one to comfort her. A strand of hair fell in Artemis's face, and she tucked it behind her ear, only for it to fall again.

"Well there was more rain and possible thunder storms tonight so you want to come hang at my place if it rains?" Zuko had a feeling she'd reject but it was worth a try. Deep down Zuko had the feeling he was about the be slapped.

Artemis blushed, smiling a little. "That would be great. I hope you can deal with me crying like the scared little wuss that I am," Artemis joked, laughing a little. She really hated this town, but now she had a reason to like it: a new friend!

Zuko chuckled.
"You can't be that bad." He said with a smile.

"I literally bawl my eyes out during a thunderstorm," Artemis said, smirking a little. "I don't know if you'll be able to stay within a good 10 feet of me!"

"I'll be fine." Zuko said, if what she said was true he was beginning the regret ever asking.

Artemis smiled softly, hugging him gently. Ok, so she was joking about the 10 feet thing, but she would probably be crying quietly and shaking like a leaf in a tornado. "Thank you Zuko," she whispered to him.

Zuko was a little taken back by the hug at first but he returned the hug.
"It's no problom." He said as he released her from his half the hug.

Artemis smiled softly before letting go. "Are you sure? Because I owe you for this," she told him.

"No, it's nothing." He said with a smile.

"Ok, if you're absolutely positive," Artemis said with a wink.

ooc: Hehehehe..... I just came up with a nickname for Zuko to use for Artemis. >3 XD *had too much sugar*

Zuko returned the wink. He couldn't tell if she was flirting with him or not. He had a feeling she was.

Artemis smiled a little, beforeglancing at the clock. Some early stdents were now trickling into the school. "Well, we'd better get going before there's a big crowd," she said, standing up before offeringher hand to Zuko so she could help him.
