Um... I'd like to know what you think of my newest avatar. I don't know if it's even remotely keepable... It's really plain. Dx

I actually really like it, but it is kind of plain- 7/10. its nice color wise, and I like how everything flows together, but it doesn't have a lot going on. I'm not sure you can really layer anything over those items though, namely the boots and the top. I think there are leg warmers with that shade of camel brown on them, but they also have dark brown and it wouldn't exactly match anything else. You need more red in there, too- on the arms and legs and the chest. You could probably find a necklace with a red pendant, but thats about it. I'm not sure how well a belt would look on top of that, but if you could find a dark red one that went straight across the waist it would help with the balance.

My only other advice would be use some handhelds. If there are books that would match, you can try those, or use some kind of purse.

Hurm. I think it's mainly the ivory shirt killing me. I usually layer arms like crazy. What other ivory thing could I use for the shirt? And what if I changed the boots to shorter ones and made the stockings the red and black striped ones? Oh, and do the red leaves help at all?

Yeah, I like the shirt but it limits you severely. You could always try the Valentina White Chocolate Frill Top from Wonderland Botique, but I'm not sure if that's the right shade of ivory and it might not lay as well over the skirt as the top you have on now.

As for your feet, the shorter boots and stocking actually do look nice, but maybe you should have gone with solid dark red? The stripes make it hard to pull your legs away from the back of your skirt.

The leaves actually do help it a bit. And I think the Pavlova purse would look nice, try on a red one and a black one first to compare though, and see which color you need more. There also appeared to be a hole of some kind in your hand?

It's starting to look better as you free up more places for layering.

And I know, the female avvies have layers like crazy D: totally fun to play with, but its a pain in the butt trying to layer everything correctly.

My hand had a hole? :gonk: How does that even-- Ooh, that shirt looks nice... But then there's this huge gap of black and red... I think I may need to add another color...or find some more ivory waist items. Unless I use the truffle purse and try making my skin match the brown... It's a nice ivory but has a brown bow.

I'm sorry about all of this. I'm a perfectionist, and this probably won't let me sleep until I have it looking good.

Skully- haha its okay, i totally understand. I get that way too- I've bought an outfit, spent about 2k on it, then put it on and realized it looked terrible so I took everything off, sold all the stuff that hadn't worked, and reworked it into something different XD It took me all night. Anyways, I like helping out!

Do those skirt thingies from the shipwreck ball come in ivory? If so, you could always try that on. Or go with the purse, I'm not sure you'd necesarily have to change your skin to match but it depends on how dark the bow looks compared to the black.

As it is, it's very random, so I'm afraid its only a 4/10. There are a lot of good seperate things on this avvie- I like how the dress, your eyes, and the shoes match. The jacket and the jeans look really nice together. And of course the panda items are to die for. But altogether it just doesn't work for me. You could try taking off the jacket and jeans if you want a more girly look, or if you want to match your panda items better you could take off the dress and the shoes and put on a white and black shirt and some sneakers. The things just don't fit together and would work better as seperates- but hey, you've got the start of two wonderful outfits right there. There are a lot of possibilities here, so don't be afraid to explore and see what you like. Try some of what I suggested and come back to me when your done so we can work on it some more :)

Hi Skully ^.^ Let's see what I can do for you this time around.

I think I preffer either the second one from the left or the fourth one from the left. The silver frames just look kind of awkward and I don't feel they sit well here. The smaller goggles look too.... odd? They really don't sit well on the avatar at all, it looks like they have no dimension.

The underskirt or bloomers (whichever they are) and gloves you have on are a tad bit too dark compared to the rest of the red on the avatar, so if you could find a lighter color I'd suggest switching to that, or putting on a belt or brooch of some kind to help balance out the darker red. If you can't find anything, you could get away with leaving it, but the pickier people here on Mene might say otherwise.

There's also absolutely none of the lighter lavender color on the top. If you use the goggles on top of your head, you could try the light lavender eyes, otherwise I'm not sure what you could do without having to spend more money or making it look too cluttered.

That's all I can see right now, I really like the two designs. If I spot anything else, I'll be sure to let you know ^.^

Mm. Yeah. I was figuring the glasses were odd and kinda killed the theme. I don't know why I left that one there. xD

Hurm. I don't know if I can balance five colors yet without it being too distracting. D: I tried some different layerings, like a wrap skirt and a lavender version of the black skirt I have on my current avatar, but the colors don't like each other. It just looked odd. The only red that's significantly off from the others, I think, is the shirt, but I don't know what other shirt could keep the theme without making the outfit too girly. I was staring at this avatar for so long that all the colors started to blend.

I know. Dx Well, unless you count the temptress hairpin. I wanted to see if I could layer a purple voodoo collar with a lavender chef's neckerchief, but the layering looked weird. And the only purple that was remotely the same was the bow belt, and even if that layered correctly, it would've killed the theme. -flail- Well, yeah, there's always a chance I can fix the color issues when I actually mess around with my avatar after I buy the outfit. I'm not even starting to save up for it until two days from now.

All right. I may just be getting the hang of this. xD But I still like coming back to places like this for a second opinion. I'm very insecure. :c But this did help a lot.

Actually, the pin does have some lavender. It's from the same set as my sandals. I didn't want to use it, but no other lavender shoe looked right. D:

And that brings to me to why I came back. I've been bothered that there isn't any lavender around this avatar's waist, and I found a way to solve that...but I don't know if the solution creates another problem.



I like how the shirt looks, but I don't know if it adds too much skin...and then there's the issue with the glove... There's a black ring around the end that's showing. -prods at it- There's a longer version of the shirt, but it looks exactly like the red shirt I'm currently using.

Okay, this one is a 7/10. Everything matches, and its a great start, but the top seems..... cluttered. Very cluttered. I think its because you've got that great expanse of leg showing- I would suggest using stockings in solid pink. Actually, I think you could get away with the heart stockings, but you'd have to see for yourself. I like how you've incorporated the red and the silver to match the staff- it doesn't look too bad. Like I said, it's just a tad too cluttered at the top for you to have bare legs like that.
Also, I'd suggest a better hairstyle- this is just a personal thing. I hate how that hairstyle partially covers the one eye D:

Urk, this be a problem O.O I understand what you mean about the lavender at the waist, but that shirt just bugs me O.O You do kind of need the longer sleeves to go over those gloves, and the length of the shirt just doesn't sit right with me- I wish there was a happy medium between the short and the long D: Unfortunately, I'm not sure there is, so it's a big coin toss on this one. I'd say keep what you have on now, and maybe you'll find something small and lavender to put in the middle along the way. Urk, idk D: what I do know is you need more lavender at the top. I'm just not sure how you'd get it in there ._. Do the lighter lavender eyes not look good with this? That might help balance it out more.

for your current avvie, it all just looks really random to me- it's only a 5/5. The red scarf, headband, and quiver just don't match your actual clothes (My first rule on avatars- make sure the accessories match the actual clothes!) I would take them off- you can always make a great outfit around those later on.

As for your dream avvie- 8/10. I like the flow and how the background helps the avatar pop. The lower rating is simply because its kind of plain- you could add a lot more here. Some suggestions are gold sandals, the slave bangles, or the gold arm bracers, any kind of gold anklets, there are a lot of possibilities. It's a great start, all you have to do is expand on it! But I'd suggest getting all the items that are on it now, before expanding. That way you aren't saving up for forever :) You should also fiddle with hair, maybe find a lighter shade that's a little lighter then what you have. As it is, it kind of blends into the background. Overall, it's verrrry nice :)
