Elena blinked and looked up at Damon "And here Stefan said you wouldn't be here" She said. She had a feeling this wasn't going to turn out well, and that Stefan wasn't going to be to happy about him being there.

Damon just shook his head. "I was about to leave...," he started just as Stefan poked in.

"Elena, don't worry, Damon and I already talked about it. No fighting...for now," Stefan lied.

Damon just gave the what-the-hell-are-you-talking-about look and then rolled his eyes and played along for Elena's sake. "Yeah, don't worry," he said with a soft and warm smile.

"You don't have to leave" She said. She didn't see any reason why Damon had to leave, all three of them could get along, they were all mature enough to get along "In fact I think you should stay" She said with a smile. Maybe if he did stay they would get along, or be able to work out some of there problems or something like that.

Damon looked at Elena and after a minute of looking at her, he smiled. It seems that he saw nothing of Katherine but her face in her and yet, he still felt strangely attracted to her. "Alright. If you want...I can make you supper?" Damon then asked.

Stefan let out an impatient sight, just wanting his brother to be gone and far away.

Elena glanced past Damon at Stefan "If you really are going to get along, there shouldn't be a problem with him staying" She said. She knew she probably shouldn't be getting involved in there family matters, but it was pretty rude to just make him leave like that, especially when he hadn't done anything wrong. "If you want to, but you don't have to" She said as she looked at Damon

Damon smiled and looked down at her, shaking his head. "No, no, it's not a problem. I love cooking," Damon said as he led her into the large kitchen. "What do you want? Guest's choice," he said as he stood behind the stone island.

Stefan followed behind Elena and sat down at one of the chairs at the landing, motioning for Elena to come join him.

Elena thought some "Surprise me" She said as she walked over and took a seat next to Stefan. She was starting to see less and less why Stefan couldn't like his brother, he seemed like a really nice guy at least to her that was. "You know it wouldn't kill you to smile" She said as she glanced over at Stefan "You'll go through life with a permanent frown on your face if you keep that up" She said

Damon chuckled as he got out ingredients for an italian pasta. Stefan looked at Elena and smiled. "There, how's that?" he asked her.

"Stefan, it doesn't help when it's fake or forced," Damon said sarcastically as he shook his head and got out a glass and poured some red wine into it for Elena. "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone," he said with a wink.

Elena shook her head "I'll pass" She said. She wasn't about to drink, she didn't like drinking anyway. "I mean a real smile, not one you just put on to make someone happy" She said as she looked at Stefan

Damon shrugged and took the glass and downed it, loving his uncle's red wine from the wine cellar. Then he made such a pathetic and funny face behind Elena that Stefan laughed at it. "Oh, there we go!" Damon said with a laugh.

Elena glanced at Stefan "I didn't even know you could laugh" She said and then looked at Damon "You and Stefan certainly are two very different people" She said with a small laugh "I wonder who the better half is" She said jokingly

"I am," the two brothers both said at the same time.

"Oh, forgive my brother. He means I am...but the most well-behaved one here is him...," Damion trailed off as an act.

Stefan glared at Damion. "Yeah, right," he mumbled.

Elena laughed some "Maybe I shouldn't have said that, wouldn't want to make this sibling rivalry any worse then it already is" She said. She could tell Stefan was more well behaved, but it seemed like Damon was the one who liked to have fun, and party, unlike Stefan who didn't seem like the type who liked anything much.

"Oh, come on, Stefan!" Damon sarcastically said as he mixed the sauce into the pasta. "Learn to live a little," he said.

Stefan glared at Damon. "That's impossible, remember?" he asked him being that they were both undead.

Damon lost his smile and rolled his eyes as he got back to his pasta-mixing. "Excuse my brother, Elena," he then said with a smile.

"It really is rather awkward being around both of you at once" She said. She almost felt like she wasn't wanted around them, and like she should leave, but that would be pretty rude to leave now.

Once Damon had finished the dinner, he placed it on a nice dish and put it in front of Elena. "Can I get you something to drink?" Damon asked as he looked at her while heading over to the fridge.

"As long as it doesn't have any alcohol in it" She said. It wasn't like she hadn't drank before, she just didn't do it much anymore, especially when she was in a house with two guys, drinking now would be a bad idea a very bad one indeed "So I don't know anything about you Damon, why not tell me about you?" She asked

Damon grabbed a can of coke from the fridge and set it down in front of Elena. "Umm...there's not really much to tell. What do you wanna know about me?" he asked as he raised an eyebrow as he cleaned up the stove and pans.

"Thank you" She said as she looked at him. She really wasn't sure what she wanted to know "Anything you want to tell me I suppose" He said. Then again she didn't know much about Stefan either, they were both pretty much blank books to her, she pretty much only knew there names and that they were siblings "Isn't learning about someone the best way to get to know them?" She asked

"Oh, so you want to get to know me, do you?" Damon asked in a flirty voice.

When he saw Stefan's glare, he straightened up his face and cleared his throat intentionally. "Well, I like to have a good time, I hate being alone, I like to eat, like a lot," he started and trailed off.

Elena looked at him and raised an eye brow "Interesting" She said. Not what she had in mind really, but it was a start, it seemed like he was very different then his brother after all he had said he liked to party. "Anything else?" She asked

Damon looked up at the ceiling, trying to show that he was thinking. "Well, I like to read and write," he said but glared lightly at Stefan when he snickered. "I like music too," he then said.

"Huum, what about unexpected things?" She asked. Maybe she should be telling him things about her to, but he didn't ask so all well.

Damon shrugged. "Sure. Just as long as it's good," he said with a chuckle, trying to win Elena's heart, knowing that Stefan was trying to too.

"I meant something you like that would be unexpected" She said. Maybe she should have framed that differently, all well.
