Demon stepped close to her, but no part of him was touching her. "You're innocent. You're strong, bold, and you always seem to know the right thing to do. You're beautiful inside and out and I can see the pain of your parent's death in every glance of your eyes and that sadness is something of a refresher," he told her as he looked deep into her eyes.

Elena didn't take her eyes away from him, for some reason she believed him, she felt like every word he was saying he meant. Even if most people would call her stupid, she honestly did believe him, even if she wasn't sure why herself "Damon..." She said. She couldn't say 'i love you' back she didn't even know how she felt about him, but she knew she liked him, a lot.

"Yes?" Damon breathed as he was still looking down at Elena, standing still as stone.

"I don't know what to say really, I do like you, but I can't say I love you, at least yet anyway" She said. She had to be sure she loved him, after all she was pretty much an emotional mess and didn't want to have him be some rebound in a since.

Damon just smiled a small smile as he then took a step back and nodded his head. "I understand, Elena," he said. "And now, I must go. I have some business with my brother to attend to."

"Your just going to leave after confessing? Not even going to ask me out on a date?" She asked with a laugh. If that was true, he was a pretty lame guy, at least after confessing it made since to ask the girl out on a date, or to be his girlfriend, something at least.

Damon looked at her and blinked. "You...want me to ask you out on a date?" he asked in a mindless tone. "Uh...alright. Can I take you out to Alberinie's?" he asked her. He didn't think she'd give him a chance like that. It seems pretty weird.

"I'm just saying it's kind of lame to confess like that, and then just say your going to leave to go talk to your brother" She said. She didn't want to force him to ask, but if he did love her wouldn't he want her to fall for him? She had a feeling though her saying yes if he asked, wouldn't go over well with Stefan, probably the next world war. "Yes you can" She said with a laugh he seemed confused it was funny.

Damon smiled. "I confessed, but didn't know if you'd give me another chance," he pointed out. He then gave her a wide happy smile. "Pick you up tomorrow at five then," he said as he turned back around to leave again.

"I invited you in didn't I?" She asked. She had already given him a second chance, even if he didn't realize it "Don't kill your brother" She said as she watched him leave

Damon stopped and smirked at her. "He's already dead," he pointed out. Then he was gone.

Elena laughed some "Wiseass" She said as she watched him leave. It was pretty amazing how they could be there one second and gone the next, probably more amazing thing it should have been to her. if anything she should have been deathly afraid of him, but she wasn't.

Stefan glared at Damon. "What!?" he asked in a hissing voice.

"You heard me. I'm taking Elena out on a date later," Damon said as he fixed his necktie and then buttoned up his waist coat nicely.

"But I don't get it. Once minute she hates you, which she should've stuck to, and the next you're dating her!?" Stefan said, appalled.

Elena smiled as she finished getting ready to go out with Damon in a bit. She wasn't sure this was the best idea, after all he had attacked her and it could be a trick. But she didn't want to go through life being that girl who always said 'What if I said yes' She wanted to know first hand what was going to happen, maybe they would work out, maybe they wouldn't but it was worth finding out or at least she thought it was. After her parents dying, she wanted to take a few risks even if they were dangerous.

Damon parked his red convertible in front of Elena's house as he clicked for the roof to go back on. As he walked up to her steps, he cleared his throat and adjusted his waistcoat one last time. He left his jacket in the car. Then he knocked on the door three times.

Elena smiled as she headed downstairs to answer the door, for once she was glad she was the only one home, if Jeremy was around, he would probably do something to kill her mood, like he had been since there parents died. She smiled as she opened the door and looked at him "You know, three knocks reminds me of when little kids would make secret codes in movies" She said

Damon smiled and cocked his head to the side with an eyebrow raised. "Really? Interesting. Though I could see why," he said now that he thought of it.

Then he motioned for Elena to come with him to his car. When they got in his car, he turned his radio, which was blaring when the engine turned on, down and then they were off to Alberinie's. He smiled. This felt so right.

"Hey Damon, why take me out to dinner when you don't even eat? There are other things we could do" She said. She was sure there were other things they could do that he would enjoy more, it seemed like a waste to go out to dinner when he wasn't even going to eat, or well eat the food they served, it was a waste of money really, and she would rather do something he would enjoy more, that they both could have fun with.

Damon smiled at Elena. "Well, I'm not going to order anything. I brought you here because I have a feeling...you will like their grilled pork chop loin. If not, they have a wonderful Alfredo sauce and a variety of different types of pastas to choose from," he said.

Then Damon's smile left. "I want to spend time with you....and I want it to be nice," he said as he then shrugged his shoulders.

"There are other places we could go that would be nice, I mean I want you to enjoy it to" She said as she looked over at him with a smile "There are a lot of other options, I'm just saying it makes more sense to do something we'll both enjoy very much" She said

Damon smiled at her. "What makes you think I'm not enjoying myself?" he asked her in a gently tone.

"That isn't what I meant Damon" She said. How was she supposed to explain this to him "I simply meant, something we could both enjoy doing, TOGETHER" She said with a smile "After all isn't a date supposed to be done together?" She asked with a smile

Damon sat back in his chair and pushed his eyebrows together. "Well...how about we go see a movie after this? Or we can drive up and sit near the lake...the weather's nice and it's a full moon tonight," he said. Wow, did he feel stupid for not getting what she meant. He was smarter than that.

"Should I be worried about werewolf's now to?" She asked jokingly when he mentioned that tonight was a full moon. "I think driving up to the lake sounds nice" She said, plus that was more romantic then going to see a movie and she would get more chances to talk to him, where as in a movie theater she had to be quiet.

Damon smiled at her words and laughed. "Werewolves stick around forests, not populated areas," he said as he changed the position he was sitting in. "Then sitting by the lake it is," he said with soft smile. He loved the idea of that. Maybe then he'll be able to finally kiss her like he's been wanting to. He missed kissing her even though she's a completely different person now.
